My in-laws are staying in Golden Eden III. The experience has been very good. They have settled very well, surprisingly, and the house manager is always available. She bends over backwards to help us whenever we need it. There's very good communication and they're very willing to help us in the paperwork and everything, because it was very stressful getting them in there. It would be two months at the end of this month now that they have been staying there. We had caregivers in the house taking care of my mother-in-law, who was kind of immobile, but then my father-in-law fell and fractured his hip in February, so when he came back, he was immobile as well. It was just too much for the caregivers. We were having to keep them most of the time, especially him in bed, because we only had one caregiver at a time. They're getting much better care at Golden Eden than they would have at their own home. My father-in-law is slipping into dementia unfortunately. He tells us, 'Oh, the food's terrible,' but he says that about even his own wife cooking for years. They eat very well. They eat three meals a day and don't skip a meal. The facility is very clean and very organized. The focus is on the patients, but everything else is really well cared for and well kept up. The house manager treats them almost like her own parents. She's very, very kind. We are paying almost $10,000 a month, but we're literally paying more than that when we were trying to pay for the caregivers and it wasn't even 24-hour care. So, they're getting 24-hour care, they're getting showered and bathed on a regular basis, all their meds are taken care of, there's three meals a day, and they get to be with other people. It's expensive without a doubt, but it is worth it for what they do for them.

My dad is a resident of Nonno's Guest Home. They're great and they're fantastic. He loves how comfortable he is there. They give very good one-on-one care. The staff is always there for him and she lets me know if there is anything that my dad needs or any concerns, so they're really good about that. It is clean and quiet. It's very down-to-earth and homey, and the guests seem very comfortable there, too. Right now, because my dad is recovering from a stroke, they take him for walks with his walker, and they have the people go into the common room. I know the caregivers have conversations with him, and he feels comfortable talking with them. He has a physical therapist come in, too. He loves the food, he thinks he is getting too much food though. He has his own room, he has a TV, and they are delivering meals right now. I know he is happy there, so that's a big part of it. I want him to be safe, and I feel very comfortable with him being there and he feels comfortable being there, so that's huge. I think for the value, it's worth it for what he is getting.

My dad was in Nonno's Guest Home. Unfortunately, he was only there a short while. He went into hospice and he was only there a few days. My sister and myself were very happy with the atmosphere and the helpfulness of the caregivers there trying to make him comfortable, trying to understand what his wishes were, what his interests were, what kind of food he likes, and trying to get the food he likes to make him more comfortable. Definitely the caregiver we dealt with the most, she was very compassionate and supportive, which made it easier for myself and more so made my sister more comfortable with the whole environment. This was hospice care. My dad was just not doing too good, so he transitioned out of the hospital to this place for hospice. It was just to help with day-to-day activities. They're helping him eat, with bathing if necessary and the restroom and all that. The lady we worked with was really responsive. She was very helpful. We were easily able to get in contact with her if we had any questions, so we were quite happy with that. My dad didn't really eat that much while he was there, but the food looked very good. They went out of their way to try to make him some meals that he would enjoy, he was just not in the state where he had the appetite we had hoped he would have. He wasn't really in the position to involve himself in activities, too. He was sleeping a lot in bed. He wasn't there long enough to partake in activities. The facility was very nice, clean and not cluttered.

My mom was at Nonno's Guest Home for five years. It's great. We were very happy with everything there. The staff was wonderful. They were great. My mom's room was very comfortable and very nice. We were just really happy. It was a very warm caring place. She received a lot of care. She seemed comfortable there. It was a nice experience when we went there to visit. We're happy with it. There weren't a lot of activities, but they had somebody come in once a week who work with them at the table and they played games. We were very happy when we found this place. Having compared to other places, this was just so much better. It didn't have a bad smell. It was just really good.
