My mother-in-law is in Oakmont of Whittier, it's beautiful. When my mother-in-law first walked into the facility, she thought it was a resort or a lodge. It's a beautiful setting, they've got 2-3 dining rooms and they have a bistro area. They offer that they have family pets or a small dog. My mother-in-law liked the place. Their rooms were pretty large, the private ones are a very nice setup. They don't seem to be boxy and were very spacious for her, she liked it. I've seen those that have double occupancy and they're also very, very nice. The setup gives a little bit of privacy but they share a bathroom. When they first had a grand tour for her, the chef made a private luncheon for her and all the family that attended. The staff is very nice, detailed, informative and everything. The food is excellent and they offered a lot of activities. They do yoga-type things, dancing, gardening, and bingo, there's a lot to choose from.

I liked Oakmont of Whittier, but they only had a 1-bedroom apartment and they were more expensive compared to the other ones I saw. They were definitely on the upper level. It was like a cruise ship. It was first-class living. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant, and eager to please. They will cater to your meals and they will help you if you need them. They had medical care on staff available. They had a medical room, a salon to do hair and nails, and an exercise facility. I've tried their food and it was very good. They had the best sweet potato fries I have ever had, and the dining area looked lovely.

Wonderful facility, only a bit over six years old. Homey and comfortable. Great dining room, kind and caring staff. They have always been available to answer questions, provide needed updates on my relative's condition, and work with us as needed to give them the best care possible. A serene, pleasant atmosphere throughout. Residents are treated with respect and kindness. Our family has great peace of mind that our loved one is able to be in a safe, comfortable and loving home.

Oakmont of Whittier was pretty nice. I liked the cleanliness of the facility and the way all the amenities are being provided. It's also pretty well maintained. The courtyard was kind of small though. So, if the residents want to walk around, it's just a little circle. Compared to the ones that we've seen, this was the most expensive one, and the rooms were not that big for the price, but the staff was incredible. From the time we entered the building, everyone was so welcoming.

Given the overwhelming stress of overseeing aging and ailing parents with rapidly changing needs, a trusted, knowledgeable resource is INVALUABLE. ALL is just that! Oakmont of Whittier , has personally held my hand during my entire process, following up consistently and ensuring I have everything I need & they were ready to help me secure the best possible care for my transitioning Father. I am grateful they exist, and come equipped with the compassion and connections needed to minimize the confusion during the process. If you're in the market for a pre-vetted facility that meets your very specific standards for your loved one, you've arrived at the right place. Make the call! Blessings and best wishes on your journey.

I can’t say enough good things about Oakmont, it puts all other facilities to shame. Thank God for Oakmont of Whittier, there is no place like home.

Visited and toured the facility; it is conveniently located. The facility is fairy new and rooms visited are spacious. It feels like you are in a senior living hotel.

Oakmont of Whittier was wonderful. The staff was very nice, considerate, and helpful. They also answered my questions and provided the information I needed. They have all of the amenities and they were very nice. The place itself was very clean as well.

Oakmont seemed like the ideal place for my father, and the price was acceptable for memory care. It's very nice and very upscale, like a hotel. The staff was good, informative, and polite.

I visited Oakmont, but they didn't have any two-bedrooms. It looked very nice, and the location was nice, but it didn't have what I wanted. The place looked clean and well taken care of. The staff was very caring. The facilities were fine and very new, and all the equipment worked and was taken care of.

My mother has been at Oakmont of Whittier for over a year now. The staff and courteous and attentive. The movie theater is wonderful (as long as the bulb is changed!) they have nice activities for those who want to participate and regular entertainment with happy hour on Thursdays. My mother is quite comfortable there and says she "can't complain" about anything. Her room is spacious and is not a one bedroom apartment. Nice clean environment. She is regular assisted, not memory care.

I liked Oakmont of Whittier a lot. It was just totally out of my price range. The rooms were very spacious with minimal furniture, but it could be made into a comfortable space and dressed up into whatever you wanted it to be. It was good. Their theater room was like a mini theater, and it was beautiful. Nice, spacious, walkways, staircases, and chandeliers; it was extremely nice. It would have cost much more than what’s within my budget. But the personnel were very helpful. They had beautiful dining areas with tablecloths and napkins; it looked more like a restaurant. They had serving areas that the people could kind of see the food being prepared and then served to them. The Alzheimer’s unit was one of the locations that they were going to put my brother in because they had more caregivers there, and I didn’t think that was the best fit for him, but he did need more care. If they have had space for him and the money was right, this is where he would have been.

I liked Oakmont of Whittier. It was brand new, airy, and had more to offer. The rooms were a little nicer than other places, and the aisles are a lot bigger and didn't seem so closed-in. You could get your hair done on certain days. I liked their meal and dining set up a lot. You could order what you wanted and come and go like in a regular restaurant. The hours for eating were posted and you could come anytime in that timeframe to eat. It’s not that you have to be there at a certain time, and they try to rush food through everyone at the same time.

Oakmont of Whittier was wonderful all the way around. The staff was very friendly. The facility was excellent and clean. The rooms were designed well. The dining area was like a restaurant experience. They had several areas that you could relax and lounge in. It was very good if you wanted to live in that environment. They had areas with a movie theater and rec room with daily activities like exercise and other activities. The grounds were very nice. It was really good.

Oakmont of Whittier is great. My mother is on the waiting list there. They’re amazing. You feel like family immediately as soon as you walk in. I made an appointment to go there, when I walked in, there was a sign on the table in the front that said, “Welcome Brenda.” Everyone was very helpful and not too busy to take the time to talk. They walked my sister and me around. They were very informative and asking a lot of the right questions for my mother. They showed us some rooms and some activities that they have, and showed us what my mother would eat and the dining room. They have a big birdcage, which is nice, and a few art activities. They take them out on sightseeing once a week and have entertainment, like a Mother’s Day party and people who come to do hand massages or makeovers. There were lots of little things that kept them busy with things that are great for that age range. They have a movie theater, walks every morning, and service on Sunday.

Oakmont of Whittier was nice. I don’t think we had any real complaints about it except that it would be about 2½ times more than what my mother-in-law is paying right now. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. We saw a couple of rooms that were nice. They didn’t have that much full-time care, so it’s not as assisted as she needs.

From the beginning of our move to the present the staff has been professional and supportive. We have made a home at Oakmont and the residents are part of our family.

My parents are already settled in Oakmont of Whittier. They are adjusting very nicely. From the very first day we visit it, every single person who we have contact with was excellent. They are accommodating and caring. They take a lot of time with us. They provide a moving coordinator who comes out and measure the furniture at my parents' house, and makes out of what they can take or what will fit that makes my parents very comfortable. They help us find a mover that is senior sensitive to have them move over there. They have three or four different floor plans, and they go from total independent to assisted living and to memory care. It’s really great. The facility itself is brand new, so my parents are the first people in their apartment. When you enter the facility, it feels like you are in a vacation. There is nothing convalescent about it at all. It is exactly like a vacation villa. There is a movie theater, a hair salon and an exercise room. All meals are included in the price, and all meals are done in the dining room with linen, nice china and excellent cook that will accommodate whatever you will like for your meals. The laundry and transportation is included. If your parents do not drive, they have a bus that will take them on community outing or they have two town cars that will take them on an individual outing if it is pre-scheduled for doctor's appointments. It is absolutely beautiful. This is the first one we visited. We are impressed by it. We feel we do not have to go anyplace else. I recommend it as I high as I can.

A friend of mine moved into Oakmont of Whittier, and she invited us over. She showed us around, and it was a very nice place. The staff was excellent. They took excellent care of us. The place was new, and they had a lot to offer. The apartments were spacious. My friend had a one-bedroom and a bath. She had lots of furniture. It was a spacious room. She had a microwave, a kitchen sink, and a very tiny refrigerator. The dining room was great. It was like a five-star hotel. It had white tablecloths, cloth napkin, wine glass, water glass, and stem glasses. It was fabulous. They mentioned that they had trips. They had a theater there where the showed movies every day. They had a church. They had a masseuse. They had an exercise room with equipment in it. They had a library. They had lots of places to sit and enjoy the outside.

Oakmont of Whittier was gorgeous. It was like a beautiful resort. It was brand new, and they did have a memory care locked facility, but it was very expensive. It was very accommodating for seniors, and it seemed like they had a lot of activities. They had a beautiful garden. It was nicer than some of the hotels I have been to.

Oakmont of Whittier was a new facility. I had a nice tour, but I did not get the full flavor of the community because it had not been fully furnished yet. The rooms were very nice and homey. The staff was very courteous. What I liked about this community was that they had activities and events that would be of benefit to the community.

Oakmont of Whittier is a very nice facility. It’s very light and airy. The staff that took me around seemed like she was very familiar with what seniors need in an assisted living type area. I would recommend this facility if they can afford it since it is expensive.
