Fairwinds in West Hills was the most beautiful place I've ever really walked into. It was stunning. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they have 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. The apartments have no stoves, but they have everything else. They have a gym, they do crafts, and they have facilities if you have to go shopping, and so on and so forth. The place is more for assisted living I think. Every day is full of activities, and you don't have to participate if you don't want to. The rooms were beautiful, they were lovely, and there's nothing I can say that they don't have. On Sundays they have church services. On a scale of one to five, I would give them a ten. The food looked fabulous, they have a menu, and it was really good. The landscaping is also really lovely. The staff comes to visit you a couple times a day, they also provide care all the way to something like a hospital environment.

I have already decided on Fairwinds West Hills. The place looks clean. I'm getting a two-bedroom. It has nice closet space and a washer and dryer, which I like. I also like the fact that their dining room is restaurant-style where you can go any time you want from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and order whatever you want from their menu. That's really good. They have weekly housekeeping and linen service, which is very nice. They wash your sheets and clean your unit. They have a full-service salon, which is nice. They have a lovely library, a movie theater, a computer room with internet access plus wireless internet is also available, private mailboxes, town car service, a gym, and fitness program. They have private parking, so I have a place for my car. They have language learning, on-site rehab and assisted living. The staff is available 24 hours a day. I had a very good salad.

The staff at Fairwinds was a little rude to me. She wouldn't answer all my financial questions, which is frustrating because I just was trying to understand. However, the place looked pretty. There was a really nice lunch room. I didn't taste the food, but the coffee was good. The residents looked happy too. However, I thought the staff was a little rude. I had an appointment, and they didn't remember it. Finally, someone came out, and she just looked fake. I felt like she was faking her concerns about my parents. When I did get emotional because it was the first time I ever done this and it was really emotional, she seemed like embarrassed that I was crying. The environment was very hot too. It was only March, but it was very hot. I like the setup though. I like that, as soon as you walk in, there is a really big public area. The rooms were smaller though than the other two places.

Fairwinds - West Hills looked very nice and had all the amenities that I would want. Everyone who I encountered seemed to be very pleased with the place. I saw their rooms, which were very clean. I ate in their dining area, and the food was average.

My mother was in Fairwinds community. They’re a cash-pay only facility. A very expensive and exclusive assisted living, and that was my problem -- they didn’t have another area for my mother to go when she declines. They did have everything there. It was like a 5-star hotel. Food was very good. Because they made it salt-free for the residents, to me, it was very bland, but my mother was very happy with it. My mother had lived there for over 5 years. The staff members were very good. They have studios, 1-bedrooms, and 2-bedrooms. It’s very expensive and very exclusive.

Fairwinds was really a nice facility, and we liked it. The staff was very accommodating and nice, and everybody seemed very happy. We probably thought about moving her there, but it was a little bit too far. The rooms were nice and very modern. They had just finished remodeling them. They had activities like art classes and baking. It was very clean, and it was in the suburbs. I liked that the people were very friendly, and it was nice and bright in the inside.

The facility I visited was beautiful. It was wonderful. It was amazing to the point where I had thought about moving in with my mother and see if we could make that work, but it was just very, very expensive. That was called Fairwinds. The staff was good. They were very attentive. All the residents seemed happy and well taken care of. The place was beautiful and clean. The menu was phenomenal. The activities were wonderful. They have stuff for them all the time. They kept these people busy and they kept them socializing – all the things that my mom needs. If I have the money, I would rather had her in the place like that because she would be busy everyday, she would be eating, her medicines would be taking, I mean everything that she needed would be taken care of and that it would be the ideal situation. Unfortunately, the ideal situation is more than what we could afford.
