My mother-in-law was a resident in this facility. When she first moved in, it was run very well. The food was good and there was a lot of attention paid to the residents. Unfortunately the original owner sold the business to the current owner. That is when things started going downhill. The food went from home cooked meals to extremely unhealthy but cheap processed foods. I came in one day and each resident was given 1/2 a hot dog on a bun and a small amount of canned beans. Attention to the residents also went down. My mother-in-law and the other residents were not cleaned often and their clothing was frequently dirty. It appeared that there were a fewer number of staff members onsite at any one time. In addition, there was a high turnover of staff and replacements were not experienced or well trained. We were concerned about the well being of my mother-in-law so we moved her to another facility that is much, much better and was less expensive.

Hannah's Home by Serenity Care Health is really weirdly set up like in a house. It’s definitely not for everybody because it is very small with just a few people staying there. I’m afraid it would be a little boring because you don’t have a lot of different places to go. That’s why I didn’t choose it for my mom because I thought it was too claustrophobic and there was not enough variety there, but the people were very nice. The people who stayed there, because it’s so small, all get to know each other really well and become like a family. The families come to visit and get to know each other, too, which I thought that was really nice. However, I think my mom would like a little more variety and not just seeing the same room. They only have like five bedrooms with some smaller and some bigger. Once you get out of the bedroom, all there is is a little living room. You can go outside on the patio, but that’s it. I found that a little depressing.
