We chose Brookdale Clairemont for my parents because of the value of the cost. The layout is good, it's an older facility and it didn't seem that much older until you got there. The staff is friendly and helpful, but they're short on staff. Their food is not the greatest, unfortunately. They've got a lot of fun stuff to do there, I was surprised by the activities. They do bingo, have TV nights with popcorn, they do yoga every day, poker, celebrate birthdays, have outings once a week to different places, and do shopping once a week. They also play cards, they have a nice library, a computer with internet and a printer, a game room, and a place for puzzles and board games.

I toured Brookdale Clairemont. They had a clean room. The staff that I met was nice. However, the distance was too far for my friend to travel every day. It was not near any friends or family. It looked clean to me, and at first, it seemed very acceptable, but it was far away. That was the main problem, so I didn't interact with the staff. I was impressed with the room; it was very clean. However, I found that they were expensive. I didn't like that. Their add-ons stopped me in my tracks. For every little thing, they were going to charge more.

I toured Brookdale Clairemont's assisted living. It was very nice and very friendly. They seem like they have activities for the people to do so it's nice that they have something to keep them busy. The place was very clean and well taken care of. The person who gave the tour was very helpful and explained everything. The rooms were very nice. They have walk-in showers and walk-in closets for the residents. They're also very spacious. They are studio-sized but they can be very comfortable in them. The dining area was nice too and they have a menu of what they're going to have each day. I saw that they were doing yoga or some type of exercise in one of the rooms. They also have a nice little patio area where they can have different types of things like celebrating the 4th of July or Cinco de Mayo in.

The tour at Brookdale Clairemont was a great experience. The staff was very welcoming. The courtyard was lovely. The gathering room seemed nice. They talked about doing some renovation. So overall, we liked it. The room size was a little bit bigger compared to the other facilities. They have a library, dining hall, courtyard, and gathering room.

My brother-in-law is in Brookdale Clairemont. The people there are very attentive. The rooms are nice and clean. They take care of their residents. The staff is nice. It is an older population and a lot of them need a lot of help. His room is very nice and clean, and he has his own balcony. The bathroom is well outfitted and nice. It has big closets and it comes with a fridge and a microwave. They have a dining hall, a lot of outside spaces to sit, and a library. I've only been up a few times, so I haven't explored too much, but it's right across the street from a market where they can go and there's transportation to and from doctors' offices. He says the food is good; he likes it. They have game nights and things like that, but I don't know if he's taking advantage of it. The staff is attentive and kind, and they take time to speak with the residents. They care what happens to them. It's just a nice place. They are the nicest of the ones we went to. The facility is a little old, but clean.

I visited Brookdale Clairemont. They were beginning renovations when I arrived. It was clean, and it was more economical. I thought everything was fine. I could see my mother there. The residents were good looking. It provided everything that I was looking for. It was a smaller facility, in my opinion. It looked like all they focused on were residents in assisted living. The studio they showed me was a great size. My mother could use all her own furniture. It was private, clean, freshly painted, and looked fantastic. I could live in it. It looked great. They had a nice little outdoor garden that I liked. I saw a couple of people sitting and chatting there. You could sit out and get fresh air that's kind of in the center of the facility. Their dining hall looked great, and it was clean. They have an elevator. Everybody seemed to be able to get themselves around. They seemed cheerful and alert. I liked that because I feel my mother needs the social interaction with adults, and that's what she does not get at home. Whenever they ran into a staff member, the staff member would stop and pay attention to them; it was good. Everything was fine. I liked everything about it. It certainly was what I expected in visiting. I've been to nursing homes and convalescent homes before. To me, it did not have that dreary, dark feeling at all. It was bright, and I know that they're going to be fixing it up and making it look even nicer. The part I did not like was they were on a busy street. That Claremont Mesa Boulevard was very busy. It's four lanes: two on one side, two on the other. The parking was difficult. They told me they had parking in the rear, but I thought that was an extremely busy street for me. If you just were looking for an assisted living and you were watching your money, Brookdale had everything you would be satisfied with.

I toured Brookdale Clairemont. It's close to my house. The location was good. It was dark and it was a little old facility. Initially, the person in the front was not very nice. He didn't acknowledge that we came in. We sat there for 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. That was not very good. From there on, we were like, 'This is not the place.' They didn't have activities when we were there. They have a flyer with some activities; I don't remember what they were. I was able to see one of the rooms. I think it was just like a regular room with nothing special. It seemed pretty clean, but it's old. They have transportation to doctors and markets, something like that. They had a courtyard in the middle, but that was the only thing that I saw.

I toured Brookdale Clairemont for my dad, and it wasn't my favorite. The pricing was expensive, and the room didn't have a kitchenette in it. It's difficult to walk around and it has lots of hallways. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a courtyard.

I toured Brookdale Clairemont for my friend. It's the worst place I visited, and I don't like it. It's very dirty. The staff are friendly, but they're not very knowledgeable. I asked them questions, and they cannot really answer them. It is very limited. They have a dining room and a library; that's about it.

Relative to most of the cost in California, Brookdale Clairemont was a good cost. It's a little dated, including the grounds. I didn't like that it's right next to a really busy road. The staff was very nice. The rooms were a lot smaller than the ones in Florida. It's not fair to compare it because this is cheaper, and the other one can afford to do bigger things. They said they're about to do some major renovations and it looks like it needs it. The dining room is a little small but the courtyards are nice. The rooms were a little small and they didn't seem to have a lot of indoor group facilities. It's located very centrally in San Diego, with a lot of convenient things around it. I just felt that since it's too busy of a street, it's also a little unsafe.

We went to Brookdale Clairemont. The staff was very good. Everything was very good, but when we started talking about what my mom needed at that time, the staff realized that it wasn't where my mother needed to be. Everything was well taken care of. The people were friendly and very nice. They took my information. They got in contact with me afterwards to help me. They put me in touch with other people that might have been able to help us as well.

My sister lives in Brookdale Clairemont. Brookdale decided to have her share a room with another person there, which is much better. Our experience has been very good. They're very friendly and helpful. The food is OK, but it's not like homemade. The place is very nice, and they keep it very clean. They have different rooms for different types of entertainment and things for the residents to do. They have a room for games and puzzles, a library, a TV room, and an exercise room. It's very nice and well put together. The dining room is very nice and large. I've never seen anything that was not clean and kept up. They celebrate each resident's birthday. They have somebody come in and play music, they can sing together, and each resident gets a birthday cake that's enough to serve everybody who goes to the party; it's a big deal. They have people come in and talk about what's going on in the world per se. They have films of recent things that have gone on, and it's very interesting. I sat in on some of them myself and enjoyed it. It's a little expensive, but if I have to go to an assisted living, I'd go there, too.

We did an in-person tour of Brookdale Clairemont. It seemed nice. I guess they're putting their refresh on hold because of the coronavirus, but it could stand to be refreshed a little bit, other than that, it seemed very nice. The rooms were studios, they seemed nice, and the staff was very, very nice. There was a wine social club, they tend to have a barbecue, and they have common areas. It seemed very nice, but with COVID it's kind of limited on what they can and can't do.

I was quite impressed with Brookdale Clairemont and it was a good facility. It was very nice. Physically it was clean, neat and quite attractive. The meal we had was very good. The person who showed me around was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The dining room was quite nice and pleasant. They take the residents to outings and to doctor's appointment. They have a nice relaxing room where you can sit, read or watch TV.

The dining room smelled and looked good. They have a lot of activities. It's an older building, but it's still good. They have everything.

Brookdale Clairemont didn’t work for us because they didn’t handle dementia patients, but they were very nice to us. Everyone was helpful, and I liked it there. It was clean, and everyone was friendly. Everyone seemed to be engaged with the people there. It was a homey place, but it didn’t fit our needs.

Brookdale Clairemont is clean and homey. The caregivers are very friendly. The whole staff has been great. The only complaint I have is parking, but, otherwise, the facility has been great, and the grounds are beautiful. My father is in a studio. I chose it because it had a sliding glass door that went out to the courtyard area. So far, he likes the food.

My Dad was at Brookdale, Clairemont for the past 6 weeks. First and foremost....All the workers were acceptional. The building is outdated at best and there is only one old elevator for all of the tenants there. If the room is a distance from the elevator....this is problematic and can be a long walk for people who are elderly and in terrible physical condition...my Dad was. The bathroom was extremely small..No working fan and the tub was also very small.. I had a tub seat for my Dad but due to the small old tub ..It wouldn't fit. Thus....My poor Dad had to stand up for his showers..Not cool. The food was good and the location for me was excellent since I live 10 minutes away. Also, the heater broke down two times...That was a real pain ....So.. for the price which was very high....I would truly look around before having a loved one stay at this BrookDale.

Brookdale Clairemont was OK, and the lady who showed me around was alright. They just weren't anywhere near as friendly or helpful as I had expected. She showed me one of the rooms, and it was really nice. They accepted pets, but there was really no place for me to walk my dogs.

My mother is in Brookdale Clairemont. So far, it has been really good and reasonable. The service is good. The people are friendly. I think the food is fine, and she likes it. Sometimes she participates in the activities and sometimes she does not. It is close to us, so we can visit her easily.

When my mom first got into Brookdale Clairemont, she was underweight and depressed, but she has made a huge improvement just from being there. She gets her meals regularly, they’re giving her her medication, and she’s just happier. Overall, her health and state of mind has improved a lot, and we’re all very happy. The apartment is on the ground floor and has a nice window and a little patio. It’s like a studio apartment with a private bathroom. So far, I don't have any complaints at all. Everyone that I see when I go pick my mother up or drop her off all stop what they’re doing and say, “hello,” and smile. We’ve had a lot of help with the front desk. They’re always very friendly and if my mother has a doctor’s appointment, they make sure that they get her on the bus. Anita is just wonderful. She completely sold me on the place when I was very skeptical. I didn’t even want to go see it, but I’m glad that I did.

So far, Brookdale Clairemont is OK. Our relative has just gotten there Monday, so it has not been a week yet. The communication has been very good, and we have been able to coordinate things. The facility is very nice. I think the thing that sold us was the energy and the positive influence of the staff. I would say the rooms are comfortable.

I visited Brookdale. It was very nice. I like that facility very much. I thought it was very clean. The residents seemed very happy. They seemed active. They were moving around, loading on buses, and going to classes. There just seemed like a lot of activities. The grounds and the rooms were very nice.

It was very nice. Every week somebody would come in for entertainment. The people were friendly. The people that run it were nice. They had everything that you would want, i.e., they had a hair salon and things like that.

The staff is very friendly. They are competent and responsive, and we are very happy with the place for my sister. The best thing is that they allowed her to have her dog. Her room is very nice and spacious. They have arts and crafts, and they do trips out in the area. They have a hair dresser and different things going on. Everything is fine with regards to the facility, and I would recommend them to others.

My brother is happy here. He's been there for over a month now. It's like a huge apartment building. He has a room with a bath and a pretty large closet. The living environment is comfortable, and everybody seems happy there. The staff are all friendly and helpful. It seemed like they have a lot of activities going on. They have movies, take people to go shopping, and other different things. I've been there while he was eating, and everything looked good. I've been in the dining room, it's like an upscale restaurant. It's very neat and clean. As far as I'm concerned, I don't have anything against it. It has been very satisfactory.

It is a very nice place although it's not something that I prefer. I don't want big tall buildings with a room. I would like to have my own type of house. It's also in a busy location of town so not much place for people to be out and be active at all.

It was not what I was looking for although I would imagine that they would do a fair job at what they're doing. I can't say I saw anything particularly negative there; however, the facility was in a very busy neighborhood. Also the parking lot was not as adequate as far as I could see. I also didn't get to see many of their residents. It turned out that it was not what I thought I was even close to needing as of the moment, so I didn't pay much attention to it during my visit.

I chose here for my mom mostly for convenience because it is very near to my house. So, I can go see my mother whenever I need to and not spend a lot of time travelling. It is also fits her limited budget. She has three meals. She has a small but nice room and they give her the services that she needs. The staff is very caring and helpful. They are all great to the seniors. They have transportation and some activities. They have trips to casinos. They have bingo and games. However, my mother is at the point where she doesn't take advantage of it. I think they can probably do a better job in bringing the seniors together and have more activities in the facility for them to interact. I will recommend them to others especially if their seniors have limited resources.

My Grandfather moved in last month and I went to visit him and loved it! He has a great room looking at the Courtyard where he does his gardening and flowers. The building is very nice and clean, no odors. the staff was exceptionally friendly and really give you that 'family' feel. We played pool and he beat me - he was so happy. And I'm very happy for him that he found such a great place and is making new friends. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a loved one.
