About This Community
Evergreen Chalet (EC) is a residential care facility for the elderly, also known as assisted living or board and care facility. EC is licensed for 12 residents by the State of California (License #374600960)

Evergreen Chalet is located in a beautiful rural area of Vista, CA on a high bluff overlooking large estates, green agricultural lands and the hills and valley leading to the Pacific Ocean, 9 miles away.

Evergreen Chalet accepts ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents including individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia who are over the age of 60.

At Evergreen Chalet, our mission is to become the best medium-sized (12 beds) residential care facility in San Diego's North County. Our goal is to create a safe, caring and dignifying environment while helping our residents to stay healthy and maintain a good quality of life. We encourage our residents, whenever possible, to stay in charge of their physical and emotional well being.

The facility provides each resident with a private room. The majority of rooms have a private bathroom or toilet. Residents can choose to have their own furniture or the furniture provided by the facility.

Evergreen Chalet offers the entire range of services traditionally provided by residential care facilities including meals, housekeeping, laundry, assistance with the activities of daily living (ADLs), trips to the doctor, etc. These services are provided by a well-trained and dedicated staff of caregivers under the supervision of a full-time administrator.

We provide three nutritional meals and two snacks daily. All meals are prepared on the premises from fresh ingredients. Activities are provided daily and include TV programs, movies, reading, news updates, games, physical exercises, occasional outings, and others.

Evergreen Chalet has a Basic Rate that includes room and board, daily housekeeping and linen service, supervision of medication, social activities and help with activities of daily living (ADLs). The Basic Rate is $3,250.00. Residents who are incontinent pay an additional$250.00. There are no other charges whatsoever.

Evergreen Village takes Medicaid. The apartments are only 310 square feet, so they're very small. They also had a small, restaurant-type dining room where you go and you order off a menu. They also have specials every night. Everything is fine except the rooms are so small.

Evergreen Chalet gave my Grandmother and Grandfather a new home after they were unable to live on their own; they treated them with the utmost respect and kindness. The owners and all the staff were always willing to accommodate any special needs and showed them love in our absence. Evergreen Chalet also treated me like family whenever I came to visit my Grandparents, since I live in New York I would spend several days visiting. Whenever I was there for a visit the house was clean and good meals were always served. Now that both my grandparents have passed away I will always remember the Evergreen Chalet and be grateful knowing my Grandparents were in such good hands.

We have been very happy with our stay at Evergreen Chalet. The staff at Evergreen are very caring and dedicated to the residents. The staff and owners monitor residents closely for any changes in condition and notify family as soon as possible. Our thanks to everyone at Evergreen for providing a safe caring environment for our father.

The owner's have taken care of my parents (one for 4 years and the other for 6 1/2 years) as if they were their own parents. I could not ask for better treatment of them. I live in another state and never had to worry if their needs were being met. My father often mentioned how lucky we were to find Evergreen Chalet and I agree.

My mother has been a resident of Evergreen Chalet for almost eight years. She has become like a family member there, and is treated like one. The staff is very attentive and professional. They even take her to family events, bring their children into the facility to interact with her and the other residents, take her to lunch after doctor visits, or to the movies on their days off. I recommend Evergreen Chalet to anyone. Regards, Steve Beulke

We placed our relative (elderly cousin, mother of 3) at Evergreen Chalet, Vista CA, after she suffered a stroke about 2.5 years ago. Since then, two of us in the family from Indiana have had extensive experience in working with the management of the Chalet (and have personally visited). I have personally not experienced this level of personal attention, both to the resident, and to us as family, in my lifetime in dealing with such facilities (I'm 56 with my own father in assisted living, skilled care, then memory care). Mr. Mozes has gone far beyond the call of duty to show personal empathy, care, support, and communication with us as a family, in every detail of need. I recommend this facility unreservedly. The facility itself is clean, neat, and well-managed. They follow legal guidelines judiciously. Great place to be. Hal B. West, Indianapolis, Indiana (Aug 2011)

Our mother spent her final years in the care of the compassionate caregivers at Evergreen Chalet. George, Mariam and their staff took every opportunity to provide for her needs, and because she was almost deaf, took the extra step while communating with her to get close enough so she could see what they were saying. her medical needs were always carefully provided, and we could rest easily if we needed to be away from town. George and Mariam were always easy to contact, and they never hesitated to call any of us if something needed to be discussed. When our mother was taken to the hospital for her final days, they still came to visit her there. We also remember Miriam sitting with a resident during her final hours, because there was no family around and Miriam would not leave her alone. We would recommend Evergreen Chalet to anyone who wants a very special home for their loved ones.
