My wife and I moved to Regents Point a little over four years ago. We knew that we were going to a very nice facility located near the UCI campus where we could easily walk to the shops that support the campus. What we didn't know was that we had a large group of friends that we had not yet met. We a happy here and glad we made the move. We are part of a fairly large group of residents who visit and do other volunteer work at the assisted living and full scale nursing facilities on campus. In total about 20,000 hours volunteer work is provided each year. So those people who go to higher level of care than independent living get good professional care plus the equivalent of about 10 extra people who do volunteer work. I submitted this review because I have been so impressed with the programs I see (when I am doing volunteer work there) being offered to the residents in the assisted living portion of Regents Point (Sunridge). jk

Regents Point had a park-like setting because it was adjacent to a park. The rooms were inside the compound. It was a little more modern than the others I've seen. I liked the location most of all because it seemed like when you step into the compound, you were going to a safe area; it just looked very safe and relaxing. The staff was very friendly. I ate in a snack bar, not in the main cafeteria, but I liked it. Several of the residents approached us and told us how much they liked being there. There was a huge ground crew there, which means there was another set of eyes watching the residents and looking out for them.

The Regents was in the process of updating. Everybody was wonderful, except the building itself needs upgrading. The rooms looked wonderful, and I walked to all of them from exercise classes and bowling

Regents Point was on a beautiful, 45-acre campus. It was right next to a regional park, so there was plenty of space. The people were very friendly and very happy. Everything was neat and clean. It looked like a very good place to live and just be there. I chose to visit it because it was in a nice location, it had a very good reputation, and it was a beautiful place. It was very nice and open. The thing that I liked was that it had independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing all in the same campus. We had a very good lunch there. They had two restaurants there, and we went to one that was more of a bistro bar where you could have sandwiches and stuff, and that was very good. I did not see any activities, but they gave me a list of all the clubs there. They had a lot going on for the people there.

We didn’t like Regents Point. The facility is very shabby with terrible landscaping. We’re not interested at all. Everybody seemed very pleasant there, and we liked the location, but the maintenance is very substandard. The rooms are being rehabilitated, but it is a very tired property. They should improve their maintenance standards.

Regents Points has beautiful grounds, but it was out of my price range; the buy-ins are way too high for me. The rooms were wonderful, and their facilities looked excellent but too upscale for me. It was gorgeous, as it was surrounded by a park, it was a very great place and looked absolutely fabulous. The staff was friendly.

I visited Regents Point. I don't have a car, but they came and picked me up and brought me home. When I went in the main reception area, it was absolutely holiday time; It was beautiful. They had fireplaces going and floral arrangements all over the place. I looked at the library; the books though were a little tired. I looked at the gym room, and there was a trainer on-call there. They had a little snack bar called the bistro. However, they only serve you one meal, and the rest of them you have to pay for. Everybody else has three meals a day, and they'll take care of you, but not this lovely elegant little spot. Also the cost per month was way out of my range. They showed me one of their apartments, and it was very disappointing. It was dull, drab, and small, and it had no charm.

Regents Point had a nice garden, but it was a larger facility than where my friend is in, and I thought she felt more comfortable in a smaller environment. The dining room and the rooms were very nice. I thought it was nice.

Regions Point is a very nice community. It was a buy-in and made affordable for me. I had two choices whether to spend more money and yet 75% back or pay a less amount which in the end I did. They will also guarantee that if for some reason, no fault of your own, you run out of money, they will not turn you out. They will take care of you. The big plus for me was the unit I'm in. They totally refurbished it from top to bottom. They put in everything I wanted like wood floors, and anything I wanted they get for me. It's a convenient place for me to move to as well. It's a very good place. The landscaping is lovely. The place itself is not new. But considering it's a few years old, it's kept up very well. The staff is wonderful, very nice, and very caring. The food is pretty good. I'm not always happy, but most of the time I am and I can usually find something that I like. They have a lot of activities, like musical groups come in, they offer transportation to the shops and doctor. They have a boutique, beauty salon, and heated pool, so it's very nice. .

Regents Point is extremely affordable compared to where my mother was at before which was almost twice as much. It truly is a Hilton style, very upper class. They have a lot of retired executives and retired professionals. I really like the rooms and apartments. The one we're putting my mother into is like a small apartment which is a change from her own home. She has a nice sliding glass door on the back which opens up into a patio area. My mother could certainly plant her own flowers there and pull her own weeds if she wants to. There is a huge park that is right next to the facility. My brother just lives two blocks down the street from there and I live about 20 minutes away from there. We'd like mom to be as close as possible to us because that way we can see her almost everyday. They have a little bistro there. The dining facility truly is very elegant. The staff was very nice there, too.

We stopped in at Regents Point assisted living facility since we happened to be in the Irvine area. The staff was very gracious and took us on a tour, despite not having an appointment. The grounds looked stunning and very well kept. Their proximity to the Newport Beach nature preserve and University provides a lot of great outings for the residents. There were plenty of nice shrubs, trees and places to sit to enjoy. The stone and wood was truly lovely and inviting. The weather is so mild there, that residents may enjoy walks along San Diego Creek and spend time outdoors daily. The interior design was fresh, bright and beautiful, with a resort vibe. Private spaces featured nicely decorated surroundings. All had natural light and fresh air with beautiful views. The staff appeared to accommodate all levels of ambulation. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. Snacks are offered all day and into the evening, and whenever requested. The dining areas offered great restaurant style ambiance and plenty of food choices. This facility seemed very much like a place for vacationing, where seniors can really enjoy this time of their lives. The staff was competent, friendly and attentive.
