I was very surprised by Valley Vista Senior Living. It's new and it is very well laid out. The rooms themselves were big enough and nicely laid out. The ones on the higher floors had a beautiful view at night of the city of Los Angeles. It was up high enough, and no buildings interfering with the view. It was very nice. They have outings twice a week. They have a community room where they have exercise classes every morning on movement and circulation and things like that. They have limited gym facilities. They have another community room which looked like a hotel lobby with a bar, and everything there was inviting. They have a game room, a card room, and a reading room. They also have movie nights.

My grandmother has moved into Valley Vista Senior Living. It's excellent. The people and the staff were great. There's some diversity within the residents. The restaurant makes life easy, and the rooms are pretty spacious. They had really good maintenance. It's very clean, new, modern, and very secure.
The food and dining area is really good. We've eaten there a couple of times too, and there's a lot of variety there. It's a place that you feel good eating at. They have a weekly calendar that changes every week. They have an outing that they go on once a week. They have a driver that takes them on a short run. So, she's taken care of wonderfully.

Valley Vista is beautiful and Gabby was terrific, she gave the tour. They were very welcoming and it's a beautiful facility since it's brand new. They had a big welcome sign up for us. I asked if we could bring our caregiver, so we had her with us, and they even included her name on the welcome sign, which I thought was lovely. They offered us water and coffee and we talked for a while, then Gabby gave us the tour.
There was a beautiful movie room, a lovely gym, the dining room was very nice, and the facilities are beautiful. It looks like a luxury hotel, to be honest.
Gabby was so full of energy and represents the place very well. We were very impressed with her. When we left, she did something I thought was smart. She had us bring dinner home so we'd know what the food was like.
We felt that the one-bedroom was beautiful. We saw a one-bedroom, and we also saw a studio that was small. It's hard to work with the studio. The one-bedroom is lovely because it has a little kitchen area, and a place to eat, and it's all new. The facility is nice, except for the studio units. They're too small, I think they need to be bigger.
There aren't many residents there yet because they opened up in May last year, right in the middle of COVID. It's not in a good neighborhood, but the place itself is lovely and there's security.
Gabby also introduced us to everybody, even the chef's staff who spent some time with us, so it was well done. What was sweet was that one of the ladies turned 93, and they had a darling birthday party all set up for her family with several of the employees who put it together. It was very cute, they had a crown for her and balloons, and it was just done nicely.
There are physical therapists allowed in if you need physical therapy. We didn't talk about the activities because everything is so limited because of COVID right now.
The executive director called me the next day to check in on us and see if I had any follow-up questions. Gabby also called me the next day.
