What I like the best about The Linden at Murrieta is it's very bright. They have a lot of windows. It's an open concept. They do not have set mealtimes. It's a very beautiful facility. The salesperson was terrific, but we moved my aunt there, and we've been very disappointed in the care. They have a new management team as of January, and we're very disappointed in that. Back in September, October, and November, the food was all very good, but it has dramatically declined. They don't have very many activities that are age appropriate. Some of the staff are five stars, and some of them are one star. The common areas are five stars, but they stopped taking care of the individual rooms. Their new management is not performing to expectations. Service is going down and the rates are going up. It has declined and we're very disappointed.

We chose The Linden at Murrieta for my dad because it was the newest facility. The price point for the rooms or apartments was a little bit higher, but the care price points were lower, comparatively. These places always have caring levels 1 through 7, and there's a dollar amount associated with that care level. The Linden was less expensive on that part than the other facilities. They were the newest facility. I liked the rooms set up, their zero-entry bathroom showers, and all that stuff. My father is a level 5 at their assisted living, and he's been there for 3 weeks now. The food is amazing, and they actually have a chef there. They're able to choose food off of the menu or they have a special for each meal. If they don't feel like coming down to the dining room, they can have it served to their rooms. They can have snacks and all kinds of things too. The food is really, really good. The staff is very personal. They know the residents by name, and they're just very helpful. Somebody is always around to answer a question or to direct you somewhere. They're very, very friendly. They have all kinds of activities. Hearing from the other residents since they just sort of got out of a Covid lockdown, they haven't ramped up to as many activities as they used to have. They have live music come in, do cocktails, and have bingo. They have group walks around the facility on their little walkway areas. They have exercise classes and a full exercise program with a physical therapist. There's a guy that's there all the time that does the classes. I don't think he's a physical therapist, but he's like a physical therapy assistant. He helps them. They have a movie theater. They have podiatrists come in to trim nails. There is a barber and a nail place on-site that residents can sign up to have their hair and nails done. They have quite a few amenities.

My mother-in-law moved into The Linden at Murrieta last July. They seemed to be short-staffed. They have a lot of activities. It's a very good price. It's beautiful, it's brand new, I've eaten meals there, and the food is very good. When they're short-staffed, I think they're hiring outside agency people to fill in, but any time you get a new person, they're not familiar with the residents yet, and that's the challenge right now.
