About This Community

Although just 10 miles from the California State Capitol and Old Sacramento, Carmichael is known for its "small town" feel. Aegis of Carmichael is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood that greets you with majestic oak trees and a relaxing fountain when you come to visit; inside, it's the people that make you want to stay.

Aegis of Carmichael has 48 bright assisted living apartments that are a mix of one-bedroom and spacious studios. In addition, we offer 29 private studio apartments in Life's Neighborhood, designed for residents with Alzheimer's or other dementia.

There are many caring employees at Aegis of Carmichael just waiting to give you a warm welcome, their outstanding service, and a whole lot of fun! The community celebrates every Thursday with entertainment and happy hour. We head to River Cats ballgames, the Historic Railroad museum, the Crocker Art Gallery, and take cruises down the delta on the Spirit of Sacramento. The staff even hosts special candlelight dinners every month.

I like Aegis of Carmichael, but I felt they didn't have enough staff. The food looked good. The setting of the place was really nice. They had a beautiful dining room. It was not too expensive. They had games, painting, and transportation services. They go out once or twice a week to places and shopping. They had a big library, a fireplace, a place where they had a piano, crafts, beauty shop, and a quilting place. The facility was very nice and very clean. The menu looked nice. The residents seemed very happy.

Aegis of Carmichael was very helpful. They were helpful beyond just the services their offer, but they also told me other programs that were available and where I could go look for things that would help me even if they didn't profit from it. They had the program that worked for what we needed it to. My mom was coming from skilled nursing, and then she started getting better, so then we found an assisted living that offered a high level of care that would work and moved her to Aegis. They have been great, and they seem to communicate well. They do what they say they will do, and they let us know what is going on. It is very clean, high-end, and has good food. The staff is very focused on the patients and the families. It has been great.

I have my mother in Aegis of Carmichael. It is assisted living and also memory care. My mother has Alzheimer's, and she has been recently been placed there. It is more expensive, and the staff ratio is a boatload better. There is always staff around available to help and give support. This is the place that I want my mother-in-law, but it is a studio apartment, and she didn't want anything to do with a studio apartment. It is actually the third facility that we had my mother in. We had negative experiences before. The first facility my mother was able to escape. The next place had plenty of places to walk and do her thing, but there was no staff available. We chose Aegis because of the staff ratio. There is always staff available, and that is always very important. They are incredible. They are very loving, concerned, and respectful. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. The food is good and healthy. As for activities, you name it, they got it. They have people that come in and perform almost on a daily basis. They have memory activities and balloon crossing. I could say they have activities almost every hour for the residents if they want to participate. They are keeping them actively involved. For the residents for the assisted living, they have wine tasting, sing-alongs, and a guy that makes balloons for all of the residents. They have a wide variety of things going on. They also provide transportation for doctor appointments, shopping, and banking. I like that they have what they refer to as a quiet room. It is like a cabin with nature sounds and a fake fireplace. It is a quiet environment where they can go into if they want. They have everything.

Aegis of Carmichael was a really good place. It was nicer than the one that my mother-in-law was in right now. It was two stories, the people were nice, and they had good cooking. They had planned a lot of activities, and they took care of the people. I would recommend them if people could afford it.

Mom is at Aegis at Carmichael. I like that it's clean and nice. She has a one bedroom apartment, and she likes it. They do have a full menu, and the food is great. Their dining is restaurant style with waiters and waitresses. Their activities are great as well. They have gamble night and bingo. Mom was not just so happy with her situation and we were not pleased with the staff. She has a sore on her back that is getting worse, and they are not taking care of it. They don’t change her like the way they are supposed to.
