My Mom has been in Pioneer House since the beginning of July. She has a studio apartment at the independent living facility. They also have skilled and assisted living facilities if you need it. It has a variety of service that meets my requirements. She has a choice of going down up to three times a day for meals, but she goes once a day, and she likes the woman that she sits with to eat dinner. The food is good. She finds all the staff friendly, kind, patient, and understanding. The woman I met who is the marketing person was great. My mom plays bingo. They bring in a mobile library. She has brunch today with some of the other people. My mom is happy there. They also have a home care if my mom needs it.
The grounds are beautiful, clean, and well taken care of. My mom walks down the patio every day where they have a vegetable garden growing a fountain that has bird bath, and she loves it.

It's very appealing, nice design of the building. Staff was really friendly and professional. I definitely considered using this facility for a close family member.

This building is an older building, and doesn't have the bells and whistles that some newer communities do, but it is located in a great downtown Sacramento location. They offer 3 levels of care, although when I visited the Assisted Living wing was full. But if a resident needs rehab or skilled care, it is very convenient that they can get the care with just one elevator ride up. They are also affordably priced. Great location for the many state of California workers who work downtown at the capital offices who are looking for a facility close to their work to place their parents.
