I toured the assisted living of La Posada Assisted Living & Memory Care Community. The only thing I was disappointed in it was that I could not visit my loved ones in their apartment because I'm not vaccinated. This is in Los Angeles County, Los Angeles, and it is just very strict as far as COVID. Other than that, I was very pleased. I came unannounced, and it was 5:30 p.m. Dinner was waiting for the staff there, but she said goodbye to me an hour and 45 minutes later. She also offered me some food. I noticed some residents were watching some movies they choose that were interesting, too. They're classics and not just little silly flicks. There was a woman in the activity room, and the salesperson knew her by name. Their rooms had character. The staff said, "I go up to IKEA and get ideas on how to use space." So she was giving me ideas since it's unfurnished. She was very helpful, positive, and upbeat. She's an excellent tour guide. She answered questions and offered ideas. She introduced me to the memory care person who I really appreciated. She was very, very caring of the residents. She said, "I've been here for several years. I love this." The tour guide gave me an opportunity to meet other people, especially the staff. She showed me the rooms. They were empty, which is fine because I don't need to see a model one. I saw one room that opened onto the bathroom, which seemed even more spacious. And there were studios, which pricewise works well and is doable, and yes, they did have an opening.

When we put my mother in La Posada Assisted Living & Memory Care Community, they were in the process of remodeling. They have done a great job. She has her own room that's freshly painted, her own restroom with brand new granite tile, shower, air conditioner, and she doesn't have to share it. The services and the care that she is receiving is outstanding. She is also very pleased with the food. She does not eat fish of any kind and we noted that. They have been very, very good. When they are serving fish, they give her an alternate menu, so she can pick what she wants. They have a beauty parlor. There are people that will cut her toenails, a library, and a ping pong table. Due to COVID, they have no activities right now. I wish they could do more and she could get out and about, but not with the way it is with the COVID. She's doing well though. The staff is very professional and very courteous. They really regulate her medicine, so there is no misinformation on that. I think the price is very well worth it. My sister and I are both pleased. We're very, very fortunate that we found the place.

I couldn't have found a better place for my Mom. The staff there is wonderful. They took such great care of my Mom until she passed away. I would highly recommend this facility. It is more like a home environment than a care facility. Each resident has a spacious room and you can decorate it how you choose. My Mom enjoyed the ladies at her dining table and the food was good. Every time I visited the home they treated me like family and was truly so beautiful to see such an amazing staff care for someone I love so much. I would recommend this over many retirement homes in the area. I toured most of them and Posada was the best fit I found by a long shot.
