I visited the facility yesterday's afternoon. The facility newly painted and also renovated. We were given a brief history background of the facility. We toured the 1st floor and 2nd floor. Very nice and very clean. They have a large dinning space and TV room downstairs. Upstairs they have a gym and a large activity game room. The interior of the facility everything is brand new throughout. We witnessed medication pass and lunch time by staff. They were friendly and welcoming. The food looks presentable and good. It was chicken with veggies and rice, I tried some and it wasn't bad but pretty good. They have alternative menu available. Their patio courtyard area is nice, they're planning to put more work into it but overall spacious and clean.

I went to Norwalk Retirement Villa. There was one lady in the lounge area watching TV and she seemed very friendly. It was very clean. We went to the dining area, and it was closed off as they were cleaning it. They already had breakfast, and it was very clean. We did a tour of two different rooms on the second floor, one with a single bed, and one with a double bed, and they showed me the furniture. It was very clean and very impressive. There were renovations. You could see that they were being made. They're not finished with them. I was very pleased with that one. The second floor was pretty much mostly open, and they were discussing that they were looking for residents. I had some concerns with the downstairs balcony being right off the street where somebody walking down the sidewalk could just climb over to the balcony. I didn't feel like it was secure, and they said that they could put my mom on the inside room. They're doing the courtyard, the landscaping, and different things to it. It was showing that they had a lot more improvement, and I liked that. They said that they do movie nights and do popcorn. They didn't give me much detail on their schedule as far as what they do. The inside surroundings were very nice. The neighborhood in itself is on a very busy street. I voiced my concern about the balcony being right off the public street. They don't have to climb, they can just put their leg over and be on the person's balcony, and they can get in there. The staff said that the doors were secure because I had a concern about that. My mom does not escape, but a break-in seemed inevitable where somebody at night walking down the street can just get on the balcony, and see if the sliding glass doors are locked. I didn't feel it was secure. The lady was nice and professional.
