Carmel Village Retirement Community was the only one that we ended up touring because it was the only one that was a medical model. We were very impressed with the amenities, with what they offer and all. They provide washing and housekeeping, and they have the washer and dryer available free of charge, so it's not like a laundromat. There's no extra cost, and it seems like it would be helpful in the long run. They help with housecleaning. My mom was impressed with the size of the rooms. The staff who greeted us was very, very nice. David, the marketing director, gave us an awesome tour and showed us some of his projects, and it just seemed like everybody cared. It looks like they have some awesome activities, card games, bingo, and memory games. The facility looked clean and accessible.

I went to Carmel Village Retirement Community. The staff during the tour made me wait in the lobby for 30 minutes before my tour. When we met, he acted like he could care less that I was there and was very dismissive of my questions and showing me around. His attitude was like I was wasting his time, sort of. I also met the front desk person. They were very businesslike. They only addressed me when I addressed them first. They weren't very personable. They've been doing some remodeling. It was a little older, but it was still nice. They had nice outdoor spaces. I did not feel welcome there at all.

We liked Carmel Village Retirement Community. They seemed very friendly and my brother was impressed that the person who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and knew everybody we passed. He thought that said a lot.
It's a nice facility and we'd like to work with them. They use the point system so we could kind of figure out what level of care we needed for mom. The one thing I didn't care for was I didn't see enough staff on hand. For one area, they said there might be 1 staff for 27 residents. My mom would need more assistance, so I was just concerned that they might not have enough staff.

My mom moved into Carmel Village Retirement Community. What I like about it is that you could live in assisted living and have add-on support of services. The staff is very positive, works very well with the seniors, and family members. The facility is clean, beautiful, and well maintained. They do social functions often. They do bingo, kinect bowling, memory games, and they have live entertainment.

I moved into Carmel Village Retirement Community just before Thanksgiving. They help me out with showers. They bring my meals to my room because I don't feel like I can make it to the dining room. They're very good. My room is very nice. They have a printed menu, then they have another menu that's just in the dining room, but they don't tell you about that. I just accidentally saw it. The staff is very good, very friendly, very cooperative, and very efficient. I chose it because it's closest to my children. The grounds are very well kept, very nice, and very attractive, and the courtyards are spacious. Due to this virus thing, I can't say much about the socializing because we haven't had much of a chance to do it, but they offer the activities. I'm a real picky eater, but I think the food in itself is good. It's very convenient, and it's worth the price. You get what you pay for.

I went to Carmel Village retirement Community, and I think we're moving my father there. It's very friendly, the rooms were nice, they had beautiful grounds, the activities were amazing, it was affordable. My dad was interested in the card games, the church activities, sports, happy hour, and socials. We've seen different homes, and they were the best. I met the sales team, they were really no pressure, very friendly, and the medical staff was very nice. They helped make lunch for us, and it was fantastic, just like in a restaurant.

Carmel Village Retirement Community is my top choice. It's a pretty nice spot. The rooms were typical, nice, clean, and fairly decent. The staff member showed me around and explained things well. I saw a studio and the one-bedroom apartments. It's a very clean facility.

Money before Humanity. My mother lived in Assisted Living for 20 days. During that time, we found her soaked in urine and barely clothed at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon, her meds on the floor several times, and she fell twice. We increased her level of care to the maximum level, but it was determined by the Facility that the Assisted Living was not appropriate, so we were asked to bring her home or put her in their Memory Care Unit. We desperately wanted her in the Memory Care and asked (pretty much begged) if we could instead of bringing her home. We were told by the Director that since we did not have Power of Attorney (POA) invoked, that we could not make that decision for my mother. Before leaving, the staff instructed a family member to sign "exit forms." My sister, who signed these forms, was in tears and distraught because my mother was very upset and we were worried about being able to care for her at home (she also did not have POA). The Facility is now saying that we owe the next month's rent because one of those forms was a "30-Day Notice." We feel that they took advantage of a family who was feeling very sad and distraught in order to turn this move-out into "our choice." Believe me, if we had POA, we would have stayed. Getting POA is a long process and actually took two months. Carmel Village has now sent my 84-old mother with Ahlzeimer's Disease to collections. This situation is so disheartening. They have now offered to have us pay half of the month's rent after she moved out, but it just seems so wrong and dishonest. I would definitely recommend a faith-based facility who is founded on integrity and humanity rather than one who resorts to sending an 84-year-old woman with Ahlzeimer's Disease to collections.

Carmel Village Retirement Community was really nice, very decent, and very dignified. The staff was very good, and we were very happy. I spoke with a few residents, and they have been very happy there.

The Carmel Village was wonderful. The experience was great, but they only have one-rooms that were not big enough for us. The young man who came in and brought us to lunch was extremely informative; we could not have asked for anybody nicer. He was well informed about the facilities and was able to answer every one of our questions. However, most of the living areas downstairs or in the lobby seemed to have people who were in wheelchairs. There wasn't a place to sit and enjoy ourselves. People in walkers and wheelchairs were kind of sleeping and lazing around. They had beautiful gardens. It was fine, but their accommodation needed to be improved.

Carmel Village was primarily for assisted living. It was small, friendly, and the food looked excellent. The rooms were a bit small. The tour person was very friendly, helpful, and called me several times. The activities looked fine, they had a library, and a physical therapist who visited and worked with the residents.

I really like Carmel Village Retirement Community because it was a lot bigger than where Mom is now. The rooms and the dining area were fine. I don't have any problems with Carmel Village. They had an activities director and all kinds of arts and crafts. The staff was very helpful.

My in-laws will be moving to Carmel Village tomorrow. From what I have seen, it was really nice, clean, and will work out nicely for them. Everybody was friendly. It was bright, airy, and very nice. I saw their calendar of activities, but I did not know if it would fit in with my relatives’ lifestyle. However, they had a lot to keep them active, if they wanted to pursue it. They had bingo, shuffleboard, and video games, like video bowling. They had live entertainments on Fridays. My in-laws were very satisfied with the meal that they had in there.

Carmel Village Retirement Community was clean, had friendly administrators and nice rooms. They had a great dining room and a salon. They had movie nights, game nights, clubs, music and entertainment during the day. There's just full of stuff going on. The food looked yummy and smelled good but I never personally tasted it. They had a chef there. They have regular menu so I don't think they get to choose from a lot. They have nice table settings with flowers on the tables, and the waitresses bring them their food. It's a privately funded place so they don't take Medicaid or Medicare.

Carmel Village was beautiful. I’m sure it was the most expensive one, but it was so nicely appointed. The dining room and furniture looked really nice, and it was definitely updated it very recently. The staff was very nice and helpful, and you could tell that they took pride in the place. They had a library, a computer area, and a little gym. It was definitely the nicest one I've seen. It looked like they paid a lot of attention to detail in making it seem homey in an elegant way.

Carmel Village is only three minutes away, but they really couldn’t take care of my father-in-law's needs, so that kind of axed it out of the running right there. I would have him there because it’s three minutes away, so I can literally walk over and get him. And I loved Mary Rose; she was fabulous. She knew what she was doing, was very kind, gave us a lot of good advice, and helped us with what to look for; she was great. They have this great first floor patio that I absolutely adored, and it would have been perfect. The rooms and apartments were fabulous. If the person wasn’t as mobile, they could better help out. But it had a great feel to it. It was a very safe and kind environment. If they were going to do anything, they could just freshen up their common areas.

Carmel Village was a very beautiful, little center. The lady who helped me was wonderful. She answered all of my questions, happily provided any information that I wanted, and took me on a tour that included seeing the different floor plans. The community was very nice and had lots of amenities and activities. It was something I would really consider for my parents. They ran errands for the residents on different days, had outings, and went to movies. The menu was pretty expensive, but they offered very nice entrées every evening and had lots of options, which I thought was really good. I would recommend them. It was a really nice community and the people that I talked with were very nice. Everything that they offered was nice. However, the rooms were small.

Carmel Village Retirement Community was a smaller facility. The amenities were nice, and had a homey feel. The grounds were well-kept, and moderate in size. The rooms were a little bit smaller. It's a newer facility, and the property that they had it built on was less. The dining room was set up nicely, but their hours were more restrictive in regards to eating. They had specific menus and times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The social recreations were adequate. They appeared to have experienced staff that were social with the occupants. They're very unique in their own way even though it's smaller.

Carmel Village is a combination assisted-living and there’s a part that’s called managed care in it for Alzheimer's. My friend didn’t care for the managed care side of the facility; she thought that it was very confining.
The place was OK. They invited us to have lunch there. The dining room was very nice and the food was very good. The staff was very accommodating. I was watching some of the residents there. They were doing some kind of activity. They were all lined up along the sidewalk and looking at the wall. I think they had different things like bingo.

Carmel Village was the facility I liked the best. It was very well maintained. The staff was very nice. The food was excellent. It had a good location. The grounds were very nice and very well maintained with flowers and walking paths. The units were pretty small, which was a little bit of a drawback.

They have five different floorplans available. My friend picked the plan that has one bedroom and one living room and has a total of 550 square feet. This is enough space for him to feel comfortable, as he has the privacy of his own room. It also allows him to entertain guests such as myself in the living room. The place is fully furnished. There's a lot to do around the community. There's a library, so it's good to read or play board games at one of the tables. There's a courtyard space with lots of lush vegetation, so it's comfortable to take a walk and enjoy an evening stroll with pleasant conversation. There's an arts and crafts room if he feels creative and wants to make something with other people. There is also transportation to take residents to local areas such as the mile square park or the beach. There is never a lack of things to do here. The care here is great. They have a 24-hour staff that is attentive to details. Packages include grooming, medication regulation, personal laundry, grooming, and others. There's a spectrum of how invasive you want the staff to be, and they're happy to accommodate. Overall, it seems like my friend is happy.

Carmel Village is the best place! My Mother has lived here for more than eight years and she is very happy. The staff members are just great, and my whole family enjoys our visits to Carmel Village. We looked at alot of places before we made this choice, and we are so pleased that we choose Carmel.
