About This Community
Bowie Assisted Living, Inc. is a facility that is nicely finished in an Italian Tuscany style, with decorative wood beams and marble.
We are licensed to accommodate up to 15 residents and can handle level 3 (the highest level) of care. By utilizing a mixture of private, semi-private rooms we are able to provide the appropriate care at a very affordable rate.
Our facility provides care in 4 languages; English, Spanish, Russian, and Lithuanian so it is not uncommon to hear accents. Many of the staff talk 2 to 3 languages including English. So your loved one can be cared for in their native language. The owner/manager is also fluent in 4 languages.

Bowie Assisted Living, Inc. had a lot of character. People were up and about. Some were in their rooms, some were getting their nails done, some were playing games, and some were watching TV. The owner came in when I was there and he was very knowledgeable. He and his wife own the place. He took us to a full tour of the facility that holds about 15 residents. The rooms were clean and most of them were a single room.

Bowie is the best. My mother's personality has totally changed for the better since being there. The food is excellent too. It is all hand cooking right there in their kitchen. My mother's room is always very clean. Bowie Assisted Living is for the more dependent residents and not for someone who is looking for a lot of activities. This is more about a place that is very comfortable. They have enough activities for the type of residents they have. It is not for the active person, but the care is excellent. It is very loving and nurturing. The staff members are very attentive.

We have my husband in Bowie Assisted Living since July 1st. It’s very small -- they only have 11 patients -- so they get individual care. The staff is very nice and pleasant. They fix all the food from scratch, so it’s all lovely, and the rooms are very bright and cheerful.

I think Bowie Assisted Living is lovely. The woman who owns the place is very nice. They provide really excellent care, but I felt it was too much like a nursing home for what my sister would need.

Bowie Assisted Living was a community that had about 15 or 20 rooms with singles, semi-private rooms, or two bedrooms, two beds. It was a nice enough facility. Some rooms had bathrooms while some of them were across the hall. The staff was very nice, but at that time, some members had a very strong accent, and I felt that it would have been difficult for my family members to hear and possibly understand what’s being said. Pretty much all of the residents were in bed, and there was one person who was watching TV. I felt the place was very dated and didn’t see my family members getting enough engagement. My aunt has Alzheimer’s but she’s at the very beginning level, and I just didn’t see how they can keep her engaged and not bored.

My grandmother is at Bowie Assisted Living. It is well-designed to take care of my grandmother. Their rooms are like college dorm rooms. She has her bedroom in there and several chairs for sitting, so her room is big enough. Their kitchen is very nice and clean. The staff seems very caring, supportive, and knowledgeable.

About 5 years ago, my mother began showing signs she needed to move into senior assisted living and leave her independent senior housing apartment. Mom loves it at Bowie Assisted Living, Inc senior assisted living, and receives the best of care from Tanya A. and her very capable staff. Tanya’s compassionate, loving, gentle way helped Mom quickly adapt to her new home. Mom loves the food, the staff, and the atmosphere there. When medical needs arise, the staff and on-call facility physician promptly take care of whatever she needs. And Mom has never been happier! In short, I would recommend Bowie Assisted Living to anyone in need of high-quality senior care.
