About This Community

Here at Inspirations, we focus on the individuality of each resident including learning what brings them energy and life; considering interests of their past and present. We look to the whole person, collaborate with their family and deliver care that incorporates the latest research in Alzheimer’s, memory loss, and other forms of dementia.

It is our mission to help residents discover a new joy of life by giving them purpose, freedom, and dignity in a safe, secure, and fun atmosphere.

Learning is essential to all persons who are a part of our program, whether a resident, the resident’s family, staff, or volunteer, we encourage utilization of cognitive abilities at all levels to promote positive development. Verbal, physical, and emotional cues are monitored in an ongoing process to prevent anxiety and ensure our care staff is able to provide a safe environment where we can help the residents maximize their capabilities and function as independently as possible.

Our staff are trained to see and understand how to provide needed care after considering how each resident sees life in their own unique perspective, assisting only if and as needed in an effort to set up the resident to achieve successes each day even if they are small successes. These successes include the feelings of achievement, accomplishment, purpose, maintaining self-care, helping others, usefulness, loving others, caring for others, enjoyment, fulfillment, etc.

Custom engaging activities are created for each resident including music and drum circles, live animals, and gardening. Our Life Enrichment program cultivates the feelings of new Life, Purpose, and Enjoyment.

My grandmother has been living here for 8 months and she is well taken care of. Because she moved in the midst of the pandemic, visitations have been limited to 30 minutes with the appropriate safety precautions in place which is understandable keeping my grandmother safe. In the absence of longer physical visits, our family have frequent video visits with my grandmother. The staff is very nice and personable knowing me by name. Although the rooms are smaller than I expected, they are clean, well kept, and all the space my grandmother needs. The food must be good because my grandmother always talks about how she likes the food. The Director and Assistant Director is very responsive whenever I have questions. I feel as though my grandmother is part of a family and not just another number.

My mother is in Inspirations Memory Care of Linthicum now. So far I'm satisfied with them. They provide trips for the residents, but because of COVID it's limited. However, they do take them out like for ice cream just to get them out of the community. So far, the staff has been very receptive. Even though I have to make an appointment to visit her, they are very good at accommodating us. I talked to the assistant director, and any time I had questions she answered them and gave me immediate feedback on anything I have questions about. The individuals that work there know me by name. I have to ring the bell and they come and take anything I drop off to my mom. They let me know whether or not the things I brought over there were helpful, like my mom likes that or my mom uses this, but they don't allow you to come in and infect the other residents. They limit your visits to 30 minutes at a time, which I think is good; they work with you. The room that she's in is clean and they provide everything so far that I think my mom needs. They're one of the more reasonably priced places. I was shell-shocked at how much they usually cost.

She's settled at Heart Homes At Linthicum. It was clean and very personable, and it wasn't too large. Everything was good. There are planned activities, and she participates in painting, jewelry making, and exercises.
