Rolling Meadows Assisted living is not the facility for those who need assistance with their loved one if they are at any stage of dementia. I don't believe 1 star should be an option. Its not the physical aesthetics that gives this home and my review such a low score but its the staff who are not properly trained to care for dementia loved ones and their "President" Rosemary. My interactions with staff started okay but within 6 months of arrival to Rolling Meadows the signs were starting to show from improper dispensing of medicine that my mothers doctor continuously corrected by phone to them, the night staff yelling at me on an occasion to get off the phone while I was talking to my mother, to the "President" sending long and rude text messages yelling at me, to me being alerted and subsequently warned by the hospital that my mother wasn't being properly cared for in their care after she fainted when it was discovered she was not being changed ("changing her adult underwear") and could lead to infection. In terms of the activities they had weekly bingo and other games, but they didn't take residents out for any air. They mostly sit around and watch tv. Toiletries if you purchase them monthly from the home are double the price (ie. Incontient products) of which I wasn't told this was my responsibility until 4 months into my mothers stay there. The warning signs became clear after my mother became sick and I raced down from out of state only to get calls from staff to pick up basic supplies of which they didn't have. I was forced to move my mother out after Rolling Meadows refused to give her immediate emergency care with staff informing me they called an ambulance for her days prior so she should be fine. When I continued to voice my concerns of her having a stroke they were ignored under their care. My mother ultimately had 4 strokes in that week, with staff ignoring the signs each day until I called an ambulance myself to take her to the hospital. I asked staff and Rosemary to call for immediate medical assistance and my pleas were ignored. My experience with this home is though aesthetically the victorian home is nice and for physical purposes the home is clean, the staffs inability to care for our loved ones and the trust that we place in a home and others to do what they say they can do professionally lacks in every category. More importantly, we as caregivers are paying for homes like Rolling Meadows to care for our loved ones. In this case Rolling Meadows failed terribly. My suggestion, is when viewing the homes make sure to do random check-ins. Ask your loved one if their okay and are they happy. How are staff treating them. How's the food and activities. If anyone will gives you the truth its your loved one not a facility and their plastic smiles.

Rolling Meadows was very nice and they have very nice people. The one-bedroom apartment was very nice inside, but the space was a little tight. The whole place was kept real clean, but the price was a little too high. They have a small room with things that the residents can work out on, they have a garden, and if somebody comes to visit me, they have a little apartment they can stay in. The staff member during the tour was very good.

Rolling Meadows was an old house made into a mini assisted living. It was nice but for the price, I didn't like it enough. It was an OK place with several rooms available; however, my mom needed a little more assistance than what they're offering. The lady who we interviewed with was very nice and pleasant, but she was a little bit pushy. Considering what we have told her about my mom, I don't think this place would have suited her as far as her physical capabilities.

Our family visited many assisted living facilities in the Catonsville area and fell in love with Rolling Meadows. The staff is amazing with the residents. My mother feels right at home!
