I was impressed with Shangrila Senior Living. It looked pretty clean and it looked like it had adequate staff to support the residents. I did not have too much interaction with the staff. I just had an interaction with the guy that showed me around. I just did a tour. I did not have the opportunity to sample the food. The one-bedroom apartment was spacious, very clean, and nicely appointed. I saw an outdoor kind of garden area and that was nice. It's well maintained overall. They had a bus for the residents.

Shangrila Senior Living was nice, but very dated. They're trying to re-staff. This is another place that didn't have an activities person, so they're hiring an activities person. It is a little farther from us. The menu looked good. It is definitely reasonably priced. The staff was excellent. They're very helpful and very friendly, but there are short on staff right now and hiring. It's pretty dated, but they're working on that. It is centrally located to Target, Staples, and restaurants, so it is very close to those things. It is definitely clean and well kept. The rooms were medium to small size rooms.

We went to Shangrila Senior Living. It's a very small facility, but the people are very, very friendly and very, very genuine. They have a Montessori school that's close by and the children interact weekly with the senior citizens there. The people weren't just saying hi because we were there. The cost was so low, because the people who own the place. It's privately owned (and I know them). A very good part of their culture is to give back and do those kinds of things. It was clean. It was really, really nice. I think it only has sixty residents there. They say that they retain their staff over the years, and most people have been there seven years. We didn't have a meal, but it smelled nice. The rooms were huge. They were very nice. They had a lot of amenities. It seemed like they have a lot of hands-on cookouts. They go for rides, and of course Bingo. They did have a lot of activities. The doctor comes in I think once a week, and the nurse's staff is of course every day. I think they had three levels of care, which were all very reasonable. It was kind of closed in, but it had plenty of outdoor space if someone wanted to sit out or cookout with their family. There was plenty of space like that.

Shangrila was not really a large facility, but it had a lot of residents. It was two levels and I really liked the rooms that were shown to me. They were single occupancy so the residents have their own bathroom. They have a nice community eating area downstairs where everybody ears. They have an activity room for crafts and where they engage the residents. It was a hotel-type place because they have a lobby, so they have a hotel atmosphere. They have long hallways with rooms on each side. The people I met were very nice.

I live at Shangrila Senior Living. They have wonderful staff, they're very cooperative, and they take good care of the people that live here. I don't have problems with the operation, the food is very good, and they keep the room clean. They have minimal activities, they play Bingo every other day, and they have group sing-alongs. The pricing is very reasonable.

Shangrila Senior Living was a very well-maintained, nice, and clean facility. I didn't have any problem with it physically, but my friend is in better mental condition than the majority of the people I saw there. The person who assisted me was nice and explained things well. Some residents were playing bingo at the time I was there. The menu looked satisfactory and the dining area was well appointed.

I dropped by without an appointment to pick up information for my mother. The staff that greeted me were very friendly. The ALM provided me information about the community and event took me on a quick tour. I was fascinated by the Activities programming that was going on--- students from the school next door were working with the residents on montessori activities. The residents and students were having so much fun--- it was very heart warming. I know my mom, a past school teacher, would love this!

This place was depressing, drab paint colors, mis-matching furniture. The rear patio was just several chairs on concrete. I saw a male resident wearing an undershirt on top of his shirt. I felt sad for the residents :-(.

The people at Shangri-La seemed really nice. We had some issues with the room, and they took care of it before my mother moved in. She likes it there, and the food is OK for her. I have not heard her complain about anything. The director is really wonderful. She is very kind and very accommodating. It is not as expensive as the other places. They offer three meals a day, medication, physical therapy, cleaning, and laundry which are all inclusive in the monthly price. One thing I like about it is they have several levels of care. If my mom starts to get worse, we can move her into a less expensive apartment in the building. It is a good idea for them to have that so we will be able to take care of her and not have to keep moving her out of facilities. I like that. My husband used to work in a facility, so we have an understanding of what to look for. He had no problems with Shangri-La. He said everything was great. It smelled good. There was good staff. Nobody seemed stressed. The residents were not crying or upset. It was just fine.

We stopped and looked at Shangri-La Assisted Living because a friend went in there and she liked it very well. The environment was good. The cost was very attractive. The people were exceptionally good and very welcoming. Their apartments were inviting. It had a small kitchen that you would find in any efficiency apartment. I thought it was a pretty good arrangement for an assisted living. However, their one-bedroom apartment that I saw wasn't as big as I would like. I think they could improve on the size of their rooms and make them a little bigger.

My mom stayed at Shangiri-La Assisted Living and we chose it because it was convenient and the price was within the budget. It was above average for the price and it met our needs. It was a well-rounded place and though not exceptional, it was far better than most. The staff were good though she had her favorites. Some had more experience than the others but that was just normal. They had activities like lunch out once a month and was constantly improving. The only complaint she had was about the food so I hope they could improve on that.

My grandmother, during her old age, spent two years at the Shangri-La Assisted Living community complex. I must say, the community definitely lived up to the expectations of its name "Eden". It is definitely a place of peace, and my grandmother found much happiness there. I also found happiness in her living there, due to the amount of safety that was put into each apartment. There were safety grips all around the rooms to help her get around. The staff were exceptionally friendly and ensured that my grandmother and the other people living in this assisted community were well taken care of and did not become subject to the dependency disorders that many other elderly are unfortunate enough to succumb to. The only complaint I can truly make is that the rooms were awfully small. I was always worried my grandmother would feel enclosed, trapped in a place where she doesn't belong. But from my experiences there, every member of the staff ensured that not a single person ever felt alone, and were available twenty-four hours of the day.
