Springhouse of Pikesville was a multi-story building and too large for my friend. She needed more oversight and a smaller facility. It was three stories. I think she would get lost in it with her level of care needed. The staff was wonderful. She was warm and friendly. She wasn't pushy and was happy to take us on a tour. She was very good at her job. We saw a room. It was very lovely and spacious. It was too big. I didn't see the level of activity for the residents that compared to another facility I visited. I never saw anybody, but the admissions director.

My mother moved into the Springhouse of Pikesville. I think that their care there is sloppy. We signed an assistance contract. They are not assisting like they should be assisting her in the morning, at night. I am there every single, solitary day to make sure that my mother is properly cared for. And as much as I talked to the director about it, she said she would take care of it, nothing has been done. They keep on saying they don't have enough help, but they keep on accepting more residents, and they're not caring for the residents that they have. Some of the staff members are doing their job and some of them are not doing their jobs. The food is not great. The activities are very good. They have memory games, they have bingo and exercise. They can improve on training their care workers, they need to follow up, which they don't, they don't follow up when there's a complaint. They need more help and the quality of the food could be better.

I was visiting a friend in Springhouse of Pikesville. It's a beautiful facility. I was very impressed with the layout and the cleanliness of the facility, and the employees there are very helpful. Her room has a little kitchenette and a private bathroom. She basically just has her bed, drawers, a small dining table, and her recliner. The facility is very well kept.

Poor record keeping. Mismanagement of medicines. Lack of information provided to relatives. Overall lack of management. Failure to follow their own procedures. If you love them, put them in a different place. This place looks nice and is clean. However, the care sucks.

My mom is currently a resident at Springhouse Pikesville. I looked at quite a few facilities before choosing Springhouse, and I'm glad I did. Granted, she has a nice corner studio apartment with two windows overlooking the gardens/courtyard where she can look at flowers and her bird feeder. She has Alzheimer's, is extremely picky and has her up and down days...some days she loves it...other days she says she wants to move. I have found the staff to be extremely responsive...although the activities director recently left, which made her (and me) very sad. I have eaten there with her several times (including Thanksgiving with my husband) and found the food to be quite good. They have all-day activities and a happy hour for the residents, the facility is clean and very beautifully decorated with a TV lounge and pub, where residents gather throughout the day. She has cable and her own phone, refrigerator and microwave in her apartment. The art activities are very sweet. I think my Mom is the only Christian in the facility, as it is mostly Jewish, so that's something others might want to consider...but they did have a tree and Christmas decorations up during the holidays. The front desk receptionists, Audrey and Louis, are very helpful. I feel she is being very well cared for, has made friends, and is safer and happier than when she was living with us. It was a tough decision, but I feel I made a good choice.

My mother stayed in Springhouse of Pikesville, and she would be going back for another respite care this week. The general appearance was extremely clean. It was almost on the elegant side, decoration wise. It had a manicured lawn. It was beautiful. It was kind of a campus. They had a walking trails and outdoor courtyard. It was very nice. The staff absolutely adored her, and she adored them. They were very nice, very sweet, and caring. They were also very professional, which gave me a lot of confidence. They had constant activities during the day. They had board games and games that they could play as a group. They had piano concerts. They went out to lunch in restaurants. My mom was picky, but she said the food was good, and they served her too much. There was a large quantity. They made soup everyday. They had a young woman who would take you through everything and helped you, making sure you had all the paperwork, doctor's report and everything else. They were very professional. They had a registered nurse on staff all the time. They had a beauty salon where you could get your hair and nails done.

My mother was a resident of another facility. We are wondering why we didn't move her here first! We love Lindsay and Mary...the food has been wonderful and so has the staff. So much better than where she was before. We love it here.

Springhouse of Pikesville was a very nice and very lovely facility. It was accessible in terms of distance from where I live. It was clean and well-kept. The staff were very pleasant and very courteous and the residents seemed comfortable being there. Overall, the community seemed really nice. However, their rooms were a little smaller.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Springhouse which i think looks good. Upon visiting the staff was extremely nice i viewed a one bedroom apartment which i thought looked very spacious for my 85 year old mother. Spoke to the admissions co-ordinator Lindsay who was very pleasant two days later she without even assessing my mom "in person" denied her saying we will be unable to care for her . Mind you she never even met my mother in person to make those assessments and i am certain she is not a medical doctor. Springhouse needs to be a bit more efficient since they are losing good residents by listening to others and not what they saw themselves. Im happy my mom is now in a great place.

I am the daughter of a resident who resides at Springhouse of Pikesville. I find the staff to be extremely caring and attentive to my mother's needs. I eat with my mother quite frequently and find the food to be delicious. My mother's apartment is very spacious and she was able to bring quite a bit of her possesions from her home. The Activities Director is awesome and there are activities and entertainment available 7 days per week. The entire Director Staff has an open door policy and no issue is too small to be handled immediatley.

I think that this facility provides a good level of care from a medical standpoint, they have a doctor available at all times and always have people checking in on my grandparents, they take care of all medications and make sure my grandparents get all their medicines on time and are comfortable. i do however find the living quarters to be very cramped, very little space for them to move around and it is a double room, i couldn't imagine how small the single rooms are. one big issue though i think is the food. the quality is really not that great in my opinion. things taste like they are never cooked fresh, the wait staff is very poorly trained and unresponsive to calls from the residents. the dining hall itself is not a pleasant place as nobody can hear anything because of the echo which makes my grandfather who is hard of hearing very uncomfortable when having guests.

the Springhouse of Pikesville is a quality establishment. I used to visit my aunt who live there for over a year before being moved to a nursing home. i used to visit her several times a month. I have nothing but respects for the employ's who do there best to please my aunt, which was quite a task. I've dealt with several nursing homes and assisted living homes and this is one of the best. Would be happy to go there if i was in need of help.
