My father moved into Taylor & Jackie Assisted Living. He gets care and he gets therapy, so he's gonna learn how to walk again. He's a sliding scale diabetic, so they help with maintenance of his medication. It's a nice place for him to be in. There's not that many residents, so they cater more to his needs. At first, there's a little adjustment to get used to coming from a rehab facility to a smaller home environment, but he seems to get along well. He's progressing and he's doing more now. He can at least stand somewhat with his walker and they taught him how to maneuver in his wheelchair, because none of that was taught to him when he was at the rehabilitation center. He's in a single room with a television. All the comforts of home are there, except that he has to use a portable commode. Other than that, it's neat and clean. He enjoys his room. I know that the doctors come to see them. They don't have to go out for doctors' appointments. They don't have transportation at this point, but they will have it soon. His physical therapist comes in and works with him at least two to three times a week. It's a home that's been turned into an assisted living facility and I know they have a big backyard. The owner has more than one facility and I've only been to one of her smaller residential facilities. We can't go in to see what food they're getting. We can only go by what we hear.
