Very happy with the care. It has been a trying year with COVID. Things have had to change for safety it has been hard on all of us. Dad isn't happy about some change but, it is for his safety, too. The staff has been great to work with if we have a question. There are plenty of activities we have been involved with to keep residents busy. Hopefully some will be started up again. This has been very hard on the elderly. I know dad cannot wait to go to dining room for his meals. This is one thing he misses the socialization of others. The rooms are nice. Thank you all for what you do..

My dad has lived here for over a year. The staff is very interested in meeting his needs, and communication has been very good. When we have raised issues, they have responded quickly and appropriately. Facility is always well-maintained, and front door staff are attentive and helpful. Folks working in the restaurant and the kitchen have been wonderful, and the food is fantastic. Rent is high, but so is the quality.

The staff are poorly trained. Don’t ever know what’s going on. Employers should do a better check at their social media background too. My co workers mother was there and just terrible. They sit on their phones and goof around. Relationships are not professional between co workers at this site. Seems like management isn’t paying attention to any of that. Tattoos should be covered up and face piercings should be taken out before shifts.

My mom's on the waiting list for assisted living at Croixdale. It's been very good. So far, everything is what we had heard it would be and everybody has been wonderful. For assisted living, the rooms are right around 600 square feet, spacious, and really what my mom needs. It's a 1-bedroom, living room/kitchen combo kind of entry area, with the bathroom off the bedroom. It's very bright. My mom has choices for dining at lunch and dinner. She can choose whatever mood she's in and can go to either. When we were there, they were prepping for lunch and it smelled very good. There was a whole list of activities which were independent and group activities, weekly and daily stuff.

We looked at the independent living and the assisted living sides of Croixdale. We looked at one of the apartments that was occupied and the woman that occupied it gave us a tour. She was very happy, loved living there, and was just a real supporter and advocate for the place. We enjoyed meeting her and all the people. The staff members we met were friendly. They had lots of different groups he could belong to. There was an exercise room, classes that you can take, a theater, and a clinic. The grounds weren't gorgeous, but they were fine. You could see the powerplant when we looked out the window, which was not the most beautiful view, but that was only in one direction. If you looked out the other direction, it was wooded and had flower beds and a wonderful patio area. Cleanliness and maintenance were very good. I recommend it. It was a little less expensive per square foot than other places.

Croixdale is built kind of in a hillside. A busy highway is on the front side of it, but it's nestled in trees. The back side is a fountain thing built in the yard, and you peer over all this. When you walk in the door, there's a stairway, and it overlooks the backyard. One of the dining rooms is located so they can sit and look out over this patio area. They can even eat their meals outside if they want. They're very much into seeing that the residents are transported to their appointments and shopping. They're really quite good at that.

We put our name at Croixdale. There it's mandatory to take one meal daily. One thing we like about this community is that the laundry is right where we are living whereas at the other facility we saw, you have to go down the hall to use the community laundry. We both like it there. It is a little less costly than where we’re living now. It is a small community, but we retired from farming, so we don’t care much for the big city. We didn’t see very many staff, but they were friendly. They have a van to go to different places.

They were wonderful at Croixdale. It was just a stroke of luck that we were able to get her in there. They guided us through the whole thing and made sure that everything was done in time for her. The staff was there to help us, so they were great. I would highly recommend this facility. The rooms were spacious. They had lots of activities, and they had a certain amount of time to do shopping. They had bingo, they had people that come in to play music, and they had an outdoor area with a pond. The best thing about it would probably be the staff and their willingness to help.

My father's parents had been in Croixdale and they put my father at the top of their waiting list. We were there a couple of times and got to view their apartments, but each time my dad would turn it down. He just wasn't ready for it. The building was beautiful and they got beautiful little apartments. They were just lovely and really nice. With regard to service and amenities, you can choose what you want and how much care you need. They got really good communication with the family. They also had doctor available and they can do simple lab work right at the facility. They also had lots of good activities. Their staff was great. Specifically their housing director was a great gal, very knowledgeable, very helpful and really sincere with her concern about each patient. We did have a meal there and it was very good. It was almost like a restaurant where you can choose off the menu and they have a waiting staff. That was very nice.

I can't think of anything bad to say about Croixdale. The staff and residents were all wonderful to our grandmother when she was well, as well as when her health began to decline before she had to be transferred to a more intensive nursing facility. They kept a close eye on Grandma, but she never felt like they were "hovering". Croixdale is a bright, wonderful place that enriched her life for many years. There were many activities going on daily for the residents. The food is wonderful "not your usual nursing home food!" It's very close to local shopping areas (Target, Kohl's, grocery stores, and the YMCA so she could get in some swimming when she was feeling up to it.) It also has a big community room where we celebrated many birthday parties and other events over the years. I can't say enough wonderful things about Croixdale. Everyone should be as lucky as we were to find such a place for themselves, parents, or grandparents!
