The Farmstead was a gorgeous place. We loved it. It's brand new and was very beautiful. It was my mother-in-law's favorite place that we visited. The staff was very warm, welcoming, understanding, and non-pushy. They were very, very nice. The apartments were gorgeous, too. They got all these windows overlooking a beautiful field with horses and a farm (which was just right next door).
We saw some people reading and a couple of others doing puzzles in this gorgeous big library. At lunch hour, people were sitting around tables, visiting, and seemed very happy and enjoying themselves in this busy bustling lunchroom. We asked for and they gave us a list of what the activities are during the week and it looked like it's a very fun place to live.
The only downside was that it's out in the country. So, friends and relatives who live in West Fargo and the Kindred area would have a much longer drive when they come and visit my in-laws. Other than that, they liked everything about it.

We visited The Farmstead. It was awesome. It was very clean, it was big, and I like the layout. They have a choice of three different rooms. The efficiency was just one room, but it had a small kitchenette, which was fine. Then they had a small one-bedroom apartment and then they had a two-bedroom type thing. We looked at the one-bedroom and the efficiency. However, once my mother-in-law's money runs out, she'll have to go on the elderly waiver, and they couldn't guarantee a spot because each county only has so many spots for an elderly waiver.
They have a lot of involvement there. They've got all the activities. Plus around the building, they've got the walking paths that my mother-in-law loved. In the wintertime, they've got underground parking and it's heated. So they also have a walking path down there and it's painted so they know where to walk so the cars don't go in that area and that was great. They've got an outside patio. The rooms were very clean. Everything was nice. Families I've known to have their loved ones there had nothing but good to say about it.

The Farmstead is expensive, but very clean and strict, which is good. There's somebody scrubbing the floor all the time and they're wiped every day. There's a huge amount of services and the staff is very good. The dining area is very clean. The food smells really good.

They were very welcoming at The Farmstead and contacted a few residents who were willing to have us look at their apartments and talk to them. It was really nice to talk to people who live there. It was a small community, which was nice for our mom. They invited us to have a meal with them and the food was great. It was well kept, and the residents seemed happy. There were lots of activities posted. My mom has only been there a month. She seems to be comfortable and loves the food.

I have a family member at this residence. The atmosphere and services have greatly deteriorated in the past year. Staff changes are frequent, especially among the managerial staff. Current parking lot construction has rendered both parking lots and the parking garage unusable at this time. There seems to be no concern about related safety issues or resident needs and morale. The conditions of the only exit are shocking, with dirt, mud, and uneven surfaces. The food that is served does not conform to typical senior dietary issues (salt, sauces, starches galore.) After hours, good luck finding anyone to assist a resident in need.

My aunt is at The Farmstead. It is fine. It is a nice place to be. The staff is good, the surroundings are nice, and the rooms are very nice too. My aunt's room is very adequate for size. She has a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. There are a lot of things that are going there, like church activities, sewing, and crafts. They have a lot of stuff to do. The facility feels safe.

We did go to The Farmstead, but they weren't able to accommodate my grandmother's needs when she went on Elderly Waiver. It was a nice place, and the rooms were decent sized. There were a lot of activities for the seniors. I would recommend them.

We were able to reserve a spot at The Farmstead for my aunt. I thought it was very nice, very well kept, and the people seemed happy. I thought the rooms were nice. I liked the layout. I liked that they had a separate little kitchen area. The staff who gave us the tour was very helpful. They had activities like music, bingo, little classes, crafts, exercises, and those sorts of things.

Everything about the Farmstead is fantastic. The staff is very good, and their meals for my mother-in-law are exceptional. They've got lots of activities, and she likes it, so we are all happy.

We're very satisfied and we're very impressed with it. The place is probably 10 or 13 years old and we like the fact that it's Christian-based. It's very pleasant and charming inside. It's so home-like and they organize activities there.
Dad has been treated very well. He's in a one-bedroom apartment and it's almost kind of like a suite. They got a divided french glass window door in between the bedroom and the living room, and a huge walk in closet. His apartment faces north and he likes to look out over kind of a rooftop, now that the trees have leafed out. The big beautiful trees are right next to the building. It has a walk path right down below his window. He's up on the third floor so he likes the view from there. The windows are huge so it lets in a lot of light even if it faces north.
For the most part dad likes the food there. He likes getting the 3 meals a day. Actually I'm not sure whether they serve 3 meals. I might be wrong on this but I think 2 of them are provided in the rent. He likes that the portions are geared more towards seniors but I think the food could improve in the respect that he has full dentures and so sometimes when they serve like a chicken wrap, he has to cut it up really tiny to be able to chew at them. They can perhaps work on a little more denture friendly meals.
