My father is at Waterford Manor. He seems to enjoy it there. He's been there for a couple of weeks now. It's close to where we lived, and the people there are very nice. I took him through there and showed him, and he liked the place a lot. As long as he liked it, then it's all fine. The nursing staff is really good and the management is good, too. It's memory care and assisted living in Brooklyn Park, and he's in assisted living right now. There have been just a couple of issues but they're minor. The people are nice. They have activities there. Everything is nice there with a few minor repairs that need to be done. It's an older place. They have pedicurists come in.

We like Waterford Townhomes & Estates. They would remodel the unit and they would bring the old apartment up to what looked like a brand new one, so that was nice. Also, it was closer for driving. The distance from my house to theirs was shorter, and it was definitely shorter for my sister, so the location was a consideration as well. They had a full kitchen, and I liked their bathroom because it had more safety features. Also, they would paint the apartment up and they would remodel the kitchen, so that's all brand new.

We're moving into the Waterford Independent & Assisted Living. The apartment is really very nice, the staff was nice, it's convenient for us, and we can get to our apartment without going through the main lobby or other places. They have dining services for assisted living, but we're in independent living, and there's an option to purchase dining if you want.

My parents have been in this facility for almost a year. We have met with the staff multiple times to address issues such as not responding to calls for assistance in a timely manner, allowing my parent to be as independent, making sure the CPAP is on each night, etc. Initially things get better but within a few weeks everything goes back to what is easiest for the staff. Super frustrating because the actual facility is nice. The food is good, but the service is disappointing especially given how much you pay for that service.

My mother is in Waterford. It's conveniently located and has an Alzheimer's unit. It's adequate and expensive, but they do OK. The staff members are cheerful and get along with my mom.

The Waterford so far was the best one. It’s a very good-looking, convenient place with very nice people. They had a bus service that takes you to the bank and stores. They had little concerts and hiking trips. The dining area was very nice, like a restaurant where you can order off a menu.

We visited quite a few, but ended up choosing the Waterford. It has the widest range of services that we needed. It was the most reasonably priced that had all those services. It was much cheaper than some of the other places that we were also impressed with. It had round-the-clock nursing care -- like nurses who can administer insulin, which is a big deal. One big thing that sets them apart from the others is they said that they would accept elderly waivers, so it is great having that as a fallback option because we didn’t want to have to potentially move facilities if we ran out of funds. We were really impressed with it. It had a very good community feel. They had a lot of great programs. Their building was up-to-date. The person who does the tour -- Lorie -- did a very nice job. We were very impressed with her. She knew what she was talking about, and it seemed like they had high quality staff working there.

We visited The Waterford. They had a two-bedroom available and assisted living, but the apartments were completely separate. It was nice. One of our favorite things about this community is that they had a little café with ice cream outside the dining room, which was a nice special touch.

The Waterford was good. It was nice and clean but looked a little bit dated. The woman there was very nice, helpful, and informative. They had a calendar of activities. The dining area looked nice and tidy, just like the rest of the building.

The Waterford is a very nice place. My friend is in assisted living and was told that when she gets sick or needed a higher level of care, she would never have to move to another apartment. The food is really good. They are very accommodating like if she wakes up late, they will make sure to bring her up some breakfast. I thought they are really good. They have tons of activities like shopping, and it is in a pretty good location. It would be nice if they could have transportation going to the doctor's appointment.

The Waterford looked clean and friendly, and the staff was very helpful. It was like walking into a fancy hotel. They had an activities calendar. I could have lived there quite easily.

The Waterford was huge and had individual apartments and homes on the property. The two-bedroom apartment I saw was wonderful and had a stove and refrigerator and everything in the unit, and a shared living room. I didn’t like that it was shared with somebody else. The dining room was very elegant looking. They also had a bistro in the complex and fitness stuff. There were always activities going on. For people who need assisted living or want to live independently but need a call button, this facility is more like a home and doesn’t seem like an institution.

The Waterford was very good, immacualte, and had very warm people. It was a very good experience. I saw the dining room, but I did not try the food. The dining room had a lot of tables with people sitting there. It was bright and cheerful. The apartment was very nice, laid out very well, and modern. The one I saw had a lot of light, so it did not look dreary. I thought it was a very nice facility. The only thing that I found wrong with it was that like most facilities, it probably would not work for my sister because the average age was over 75, and she was only 56 years old.

My parents were here for one year, I just moved them to another facility. Beware of the staffing ratio in memory care and the lack of activities of substance in memory care also. Has gone down hill with change of management.

The Waterford has one of a dozen or so townhomes that are becoming available, so we put a deposit on one. The facility is probably eight or 10 years old, but it is well taken care of. The floor plans and the townhomes were what we were looking for. They have a library and a fitness room and a very nice foyer. They seemed to have a really nice and courteous staff. I think it’s a good place. One thing about it is we’re in the independent part but should something change, they also have the assisted right there. They have all kinds of programs and get-togethers. I think it’s a well-managed, cordial place.

I visited The Waterford. The staff member who accommodated me was amazing and made a good impression. She showed me around and answered all of my questions. The apartments were clean. The only thing I didn’t like was that the hallways were being renovated, so it was a little dark. The staff was great and fun.

We toured The Waterford. It’s nice, has a lot of activities, and I liked the grounds. The lady we met was very friendly.

My loved one has moved in at The Waterford. I'm happy with it. One of the ladies there is very helpful too. The facility is clean and quiet. They have lots of activities for them to do. I am really happy with the whole experience. Since he has been there, it has been working out very well. They have activities for seniors. They have the round-the-clock activities that my loved one can get involved in and make friends. The apartment was redone. They even called me for feedback as to what he needs.

This place is run down. No working bathroom on the second floor. Some of the apartments have been flooded out with toilet water and then just spot cleaned and rented to new residents. Lights are burned out on the stairwells. Apartments that are rented out are not cleaned to rid the place for mold. The aides do not take care of the residents and they are poorly staffed. I would not let my mom or dad stay here.

I like the rooms at Waterford Manor, but I wasn’t impressed with the care there. The person who should gave me the tour was not there and I was toured with another person and I feel I was not thoroughly informed with regards to the facility. I should have gone back for another walkthrough. The facility seemed a little dark and drab to me; the rooms didn’t feel that way, just the main area.

Waterford Manor is a very clean facility. The place was light, airy, and updated. It didn't smell that of urine. The people were approachable and kind. The food was fabulous. The apartment is huge for the money. Everything was perfect. We felt that it met every single need that my parents have.

Waterford was an okay place. Wasn't the best but it was by far not the worst. Residents were in nice rooms, my grandpa had at least one window. The staff came in to help with medicine and baths and anything else he needed. A complaint I have though is he was lonely a lot. I suppose they must have offered social gatherings of some kinds, but as he had dementia, he had less leeway as other residents. I wish the people came in to talk to him more. The food there was okay, mildly bland, but I guess most assisted living places have mostly bland food. There was always coffee. Always. The ladies that sat at the front desk area were always very polite and sweet, helping out the residents and relatives and friends of residents. Our grandpa really liked all of the staff there. He has since transferred to a different facility, but I'm not sure why. Everything seemed mostly okay to me.

The most unique feature of Waterford Manor is that this facility provides private apartment living with the advantage of supportive services for residents who are independent enough to live alone, but in need of help with activities of daily life such as bathing, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, meals, and medication reminders. The one and two bedroom apartments are very stylish including an option of amenities such as a fireplace. The apartment space is designed with seniors in mind, all showers have grab bars, and kitchen counters are low to accommodate those in wheel chairs. Residents can take advantage of services such as; 24 hour emergency call system, escort services to get to daily meals, medication management program, daily resident checks, and assistance with laundry and housekeeping. Most residents really appreciate that they can be as independent as possible in the privacy of their own home, while receiving the supportive services they need. The staff is friendly and supportive and most residents feel comfortable knowing that North Memorial Hospital is located nearby.
