My mom was at The Shores of Lake Phalen. The appearance was good and the daytime help wasn't that bad, but the help in the evening was horrible. They didn't answer their pendants at night. They were helpful and friendly, but they were overworked. The night people needed to step it up and work because they didn't work so much. The dining room looked nice. The activities were good. They had bingo and outing where they go places. However, the night people left my mother in a chair three times at night without putting her to bed. They need to hire better help in the evening and not let the good help leave. Their staff turnover was too high.

My visit at The Shores of Lake Phalen was wonderful, it was a beautiful community. The atmosphere was very friendly and accommodating. It was just more expensive than the place we chose. The dining setup was also really nice.

The Shores of Lake Phalen was a very nice place. The memory care was on the first floor and the assisted living was on the other floors. It had a homey atmosphere. They had a really big room that could accommodate 50 people for residents who want to celebrate something. They had an upstairs theater which was very nice and very homey-like. I loved the person that assisted me. She was really helpful and she would be beyond 5 stars.

The Shores of Lake Phalen was a beautiful place and we liked it, but it didn't meet our needs. My friend wanted a smaller and close-knit community, but everyone was very nice and it was a wonderful community.

My husband was very ill, and when we brought him over at The Shores of Lake Phalen, they put him on a level 3 care. Certainly, we don't have any complaints. It's a lovely place with a lovely setting. It was on the north end of Lake Phalen. It's wooded and pretty. Everything was quite new. They did have several programs. We were there for just a short while, so we didn't avail any of them. It was managed by Ebenezer, so they had a chaplain, services and Bible studies which my husband appreciated since he had been a pastor. They also had exercise classes and movies. It's a smaller community compared to some, but we found it to be a very nice place to be.
