I am living at White Pine and it's good. It's small and they have memory care on the first floor and assisted living on the second floor. They have some activities with an activities director, but there aren't a lot. The staff is not very big, but they've got a really good nursing system and the house manager is terrific. The room is large with a living room and bedroom.

The coordinator at White Pine (White Bear) that worked with me and gave me the tour was very helpful. I felt that the facility was smaller, which I liked. It had a much more homey feeling. It seemed like they had a lot of activities. The rooms were spacious enough for my parents to feel comfortable. They had a doctor on staff and an RN. I liked the facility very much and felt that it would be a good fit for my parents. They had activities like crafts, cards, music, entertainment, college show and they have a nice piano. The ladies do knitting, crocheting, artwork and different things. The room that I was interested for my parents was a 1-bedroom unit that had a quite large living room and a bedroom with a closet, which for them would probably work out well because I would probably put one in each room with the bed, chair and TV set up. They had a microwave in a small kitchenette. I guess it was spacious and roomy enough for both of them. I did not eat there, but I saw the dining room and it was very nice. It looked like they had a good menu and lots of choices. It was very secure, clean, and the safety was good. I would recommend it to others.
