I'm moving into Heritage of Edina. It's a big community, where I will get a lot of activities. They had a very nice room for me, and the food looked great. I especially was impressed that the owner of the complex lives there, and she does most of the gardening. Every month, they have a barbecue. She wants to meet all of the people that live there and wants to talk to them by their first name, which I was really impressed. I like what I've seen and how everyone interacted with me when I was there. I like the outside gardens. They were lovely, and I felt very comfortable being out in the garden. Even if I was out there by myself, I felt very safe and comfortable. I like the location because my son lives in Eden Prairie and my daughter is moving to Saint Paul.

The facility is older and could be updated. Full of antiques in the lobby, but that’s the style. The staff were great. Facility is clean. Spacious rooms. The only problem we had was they had gotten a new kitchen staff. They served my grandmother a turkey sandwich for dinner and the turkey was spoiled. It even smelled bad. No variety in the menu. Same thing every week.

My sister and I visited this facility as a possible option for my mother who needed to go in assisted care facility. Our initial reaction was not good - the facility is extremely dated - doesn't look like it has had any updates to lobby furniture, rooms or anywhere else since the 1960's. You are stepping back in time for sure! While we can't rate staff or care - the facility itself was just not appealing to us - dark, dingy, dated, the room we saw had contact paper in the cabinets, fixtures and switches were super old. Another room we looked at that was occupied by a resident had window blinds that where many of the slats were broken off - the person giving us the tour ensured us that this was going to be fixed soon - which we doubted. I couldn't see us putting our family member in there.

I visited Heritage of Edina. It was very dingy, not up to date at all, and I was not impressed with the dining room. The staff and the residents did not seem particularly happy.

As we savor wonderful memories of our 100 year old mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We are so grateful to each and every one of you who helped to make her years at Heritage of Edina feel so much like home for her. She felt safe, loved and cared for there. We want to especially thank Lynn who was regularly communicating with us, and also frequently visiting her...just to say "hi, how are you and I love you". She truly felt the love and the attention! Also, we as her family, rested easier at night knowing she was at Heritage. She loved living there; her room and her view of the front gardens, which she couldn't see as well at the end, but seemed to remember in her minds eye. So, for all of the special ways that you shared and helped with our dear loved one's care, we want to say thank you; we will always be grateful.

Heritage of Edina had four buildings and for someone who's able, it was very nice. The only downfall I see was a lot of the stuff was a la carte. My spouse is a diabetic and they don't have a diabetic program, but they were going to try to work on this. If they had to come in and test his blood sugars, it would be $9 a poke. They had shown us a little suite and it was very small. They're located real close to all doctors and the hospital and everything else. I appreciate their forwardness in saying that they could not accept him because of the quality of care he needs.

We chose Heritage of Edina for my father-in-law two months ago because it is three blocks from my house. It ranges from independent care all the way through nursing, memory care, and hospice. The food is not fantastic, but it is OK, and they have three meals a day. I think the staff has been very good for the most part and the nurses are great. They have a choir, a couple of books, and art groups. They have music at least a couple of times a week.

The staff, and caretakers at Heritage of Edina are very good. It is difficult to work with the management staff, but the caring staff is amazing. The room is very nice. The building where my mother-in-law stays is very elegant, very well-kept, and very home-like. There are three different buildings: Rembrandt, Manor, and Tiffany. They have guest-musicians, bingo, church activities. They do Christmas, and holiday parties. They do a lot of activities for the residents. The food is great. The dining room is spacious. What I like most about the facility is that it doesn’t seem like a nursing home when it really is a nursing home. It’s more than just rooms, and hallways. The furnishings are amazing.

My mother was in this facility. The food was horrible, most of the aids did not speak English and I was worried constantly about my mother's care. It was a terrible experience

I found the Heritage of Edina very depressing. It felt like a nursing home to me. I don't want my mom living there. The rooms were fine. It just looked depressing.

Heritage of Edina is very nice. They take Medicaid and they have an assisted living extended care. So my mother is in a nice little studio apartment and essentially in a nursing home care, but she's living independently. The staff is wonderful. They have plenty of activities, but mom is not a big activity person. And she gets to watch her television because she's got her own little apartment. Food is never as good as you want it to be, but it's fine. We are very happy with them. They are just excellent.
