I looked at Aegis Living West Seattle, but it was a little too expensive. I saw their activities and physical therapy, they also have a special memory care section, so I got a pretty full tour of the entire facility. It's a very nice brand-new building. They just built it.

We visited Aegis of West Seattle. It was very impressive when you walk in since everything is big, light, and expensive. Their buy-in fee was probably seven times more than others, but my sister lives seven minutes from there. We discovered that they have a number of lawsuits against them for care of patients, so we opted to back out. The facility itself was very nice. One of the things we didn’t like was their menu had French names, which is not good for old people. If you don’t know what it means, then you’re not going to eat it. It was absolutely brand new with only seven residents in there while we were visiting. It’s obviously designed for people in a different class than my mom and dad. They had a spa where you can get massages, a salon where you can get a haircut, and a community room you could reserve for dinners. You could go up on the roof in the evening and watch a movie. They had a garden, a vegetable garden, and another kind of garden that people could putter in if they wanted to, and we thought mom would enjoy that. There was a place where you could order light snacks, freshly made snacks, individual pizza, or things that could be warmed up in a microwave.
