One thing I noticed right away at Bay Pointe Assisted Living & Marine Courte Memory Care was that it's a very clean place. There's no weird smells when you walk in. It's very nicely laid out and welcoming. My dad's room and a couple of the others that we looked at were all well maintained. It's in an actual neighborhood too, which is nice. Everybody's been really welcoming and kind. The day before we were moving him, he fell, and so when we moved him in, the situation was not as normal as it probably could have been. They were all very accommodating and just really jumped right in to take care of him and help him out with the transition. They made things easier for us, which I appreciated. They have coffee and chat daily. When I went to visit my dad yesterday, they had live fiddle music, and it seemed like there were quite a few people enjoying it. They also play Pinochle, Bridge, dominoes, go onto outings, and all kinds of stuff. Their food was really good as well. I was actually really impressed with it.

My father moved into Bay Pointe Assisted Living. I looked at a couple others. I like that their level of care is much higher. Their expectations of their staff are higher. Their reviews are higher. I liked the cleanliness of it, and how they keep the building up and the environment. They're basically right across the street from the water. There are houses on the water. It's a very, very nice, very upbeat facility. They really try to keep the residents engaged. They think outside the box. I talked to some of the residents, and they just love it. There was a group of three or four of them having coffee outside because they have a little outdoor area. It's just beautiful. They said, "He's going to love it here." It's a great place. My dad so far really likes it. It's a nice place. They've got group classes, occupational therapy on board, nurses, and head of nursing that does care plans. They really do a lot in that aspect to get the residents engaged. There are many levels of activity. They're wanting to put in a full physical therapy department, but then COVID happened; they had to stop that. They have a doctor that comes and makes house calls, so residents don't have to go to a family doctor. If they don't want to, they can have one. Their dining room is beautiful. They actually have a chef on board that makes incredible meals from what I hear. My dad said that it is amazing food. It's pretty impressive. The staff is incredible. The residents love the food. The dining area had a very nice atmosphere. It looked more like an upscale restaurant with white tablecloths and the waitstaff. It's pretty amazing. Its physical appearance was what caught my eye right at the beginning. It reminds you of like a big Victorian style building. They have activity rooms, fireplace rooms, reading rooms, a nursing station, and occupational therapy station. You could tell they've been in business for a while. It's not cheap though. We're paying about $4,700 a month. There are cheaper places, but nothing that compares to this. It's not cheap, but for what you get it's pretty hard to argue the quality that you're getting for it.

I liked pretty much everything about Bay Pointe, including the people. A big part was that they offered Medicaid after two years. They have on-staff nursing and everything. The dining area is very nice. I visited a lot of places, and this one just seemed very well established.

My mother stayed at Bay Pointe for a while. She was in the assisted living, but she got to the point where she needed memory care, and the memory care was full, so I had to get her out. They were pretty good, but she was in the assisted living there. She was kind of on her own. The bedroom was in good size. It was a nice, good bedroom. The living room merges with a kitchen. It was very big and nice. It had a kind of fairly nice bathroom. It was a fairly nice place. It was like an old hotel in a way.

Mom is at Bay Pointe, and the staff are exceptional. They are very friendly, helpful, upbeat, and very outgoing. The rooms are wonderful. The food is fantastic. They have a huge, huge menu. I have actually eaten there, and it was wonderful. We have no complaints with this facility.

My father is currently living at Bay Pointe Assisted Living, and while it took us a while to convince him to move there we know he's glad he made the switch after his wife passed. My dad's an avid chef, and while he couldn't cook too much of his own food, they have wonderful chefs there (they are very quick to point out), that feed him three meals a day. Also, his back is giving out and the ladies there treat him very, very well and he's made a lot of friends he wouldn't have, living at home alone. Before his back started going, however, he always used his free membership to the Y. I know he wishes there was a nicer pool there, and while the place as a whole is a bit on the expensive side, no one can deny he has an awesome fireplace in his room!

This retirement facility consists of two separate buildings. The first building is Bay Pointe Retirement. It is for people from total independence to needing total assistance. The facility is very comforting on the inside as well as the outside. They offer full dining and excellent meal options. The residents also have the option to cook in there apartment homes. There are a variety of activities offered as well as outings. The residents are allowed to have their pets too. The other building, Marine Court, is offered for patients suffering from alzheimers and dementia. There is round the clock care provided. They also have activities suited for their needs.
