My mom was a resident of the Nursing Care Facility for 6.5 years. At first, things were good. When the new CEO came in things began to change. The quality of the food was horrid. She was always complaining about it. The food served to them was cold and tasteless. She spoke with the dietician several times about the foods she was served. She asked for no cream type of foods due to stomach issues yet was always served them. There was not much variety in the food. The last few years they were always short-staffed, she'd have to wait 30+ minutes sometimes to get taken to the bathroom or put to bed (things she was unable to do on her own). They filled positions with agency staff who often did not know how to care for her and had never dealt with a supra-pubic catheter. There was minimal building of relationships with the residents by most of the nursing staff. The laundry facility was always losing her clothing and she often had clothing on that wasn't hers. When we received her belongings after she passed, there were only 3 single socks in her clothes and we only had one of her tennis shoes. We had high hopes for this facility. Now, I would not recommend it at all. They are currently focused on expanding and bringing in "paying" customers and letting the rest go. The only bright spot for my mom were a few staff who truly took an interest in her and did what they could for her.
