I chose Fred Lind Manor for my husband because it's close to me, it's small, and it's been owned by the same people for 80 years. It's all devoted to assisted living, but they have expanded services for people with memory issues. He was there before he went to the hospital and rehabilitation center. Then the rehabilitation center discussed his needs with the people at Fred Lind, and that's when I decided that that was a good place for him, and it's working out well. I'm very happy with the care they have. They are very sweet people, and they do things when I called. With COVID, you can't go in and see how things are, but I'm as happy as I expect to be with them. The facility is very nice and very, very well maintained, too.

Fred Lind Manor has a good location with restaurants and galleries all within walking distance and a large, wonderful park about a mile away. It’s within a community that we want to live in. The atmosphere is very nice. It was filled with a lot of people in wheelchairs and walkers, which was a little depressing, but they’re going through complete renovation.

Fred Lind Manor was a small organization. I left because I was having a lot of stuff taken from my room that was generally minor. The other thing that I didn't like about it was that increasingly, the residents were leaving. Some of them left for some place else because of their dissatisfaction. The majority of the staff was from Africa including some of the high staff. Their attitude towards me and some of the residents was negative, nasty, and not friendly. A number of the residents were very friendly to me, but they didn't seem to have a lot of communication with each other. Many of them were just kind of quiet.
