The units at Holden Southcenter was very nice. It checked all the boxes that we were looking for. I liked their outdoor activities. They take the residents out to places and I liked the scheduled music they had every Wednesday in the dining hall. They have a rooftop garden which will be very nice on a warm day and you get a view of Mount Rainier. There's an outdoor barbecue, a nice sitting area with a fireplace in the entry hall, a nice TV room, and a movie room. I tried their food and it was enjoyable. The facility was very clean and very well maintained.

I toured Holden Southcenter. The person who gave information to potential clients was very friendly and very knowledgeable. They gave me a lot of information, and even gave me a virtual tour that I could share with my mother at home, which none of the other facilities did. I love their intake system. It's very secure. The property on every floor that I visited was clean. The parking was great. The staff and residents (who gave some very positive information) were very welcoming. The coordinator was trying to accommodate the right space for my mother and was willing to do a lot of things to make sure she was comfortable. I met the director who was also very good. They invited my mother to come and have a meal to try their food. The residents there were very engaged. One thing that stood out about them is their diversity. My mother is African American, and none of the other places that I visited had much diversity, but they had it at Holden Southcenter, so that facility is my number one choice. When I was there, there were policemen there. I guess they do an annual day where they come and visit the residents and have lunch with them, so that was kind of exciting to see. They have a lot of scheduled activities.

Holden Southcenter was very clean and very modern. The people there were very friendly. They had a salon that was available for people to go into, trips, a gym, and physical therapists. It was very well thought out and I liked the layout of the rooms. It was very nice. It had a very large closet and a large bathroom. It didn't have a huge living area, but they had down the hall a communal area on each floor. The other thing that I thought was nice was the kitchen was kind of compact. It seemed like it had a lot of storage. It also seemed very reasonably priced for what it's like, because if you needed help bathing, it was included.

My parents have lived at three other assisted living facilities. Holden, by far, has been their favorite. My mom is in assisted living and my dad was in memory care. The rooms are bright, well designed, and airy. Insulation is good so you don't hear a lot of noise. The staff has always been welcoming and have never seemed to be 'just doing their job'. Communication from Shane is fantastic and there are many opportunities to join the residents for special events. The meals are great and more varied than other facilities they've lived at. The recent painting activity was great & despite my mom's poor vision, she created a great painting. The activities personnel went out of their way to include her and made sure there was plenty of light to help with her vision. The laundry facilities have large capacity washers and dryers that work great. The roof top patio is a great place to gather with nice views. I always enjoy my visits and I am grateful for the safe and caring environment that the staff provide.

My brother will be moving into Holden Southcenter today. I made a tour with them, and they have been absolutely generous. Everything about them is very professional and well done. When we walked in, my daughter said that she would move there herself. She lives in a very exclusive million-dollar house, so that was a huge comment from her. I liked the ease of getting in and the fact that there's always somebody at the front desk to help you. It has the security of most of the assisted living here in Seattle. You always have that special check-in. They know where you are as a guest, and they also know where their residents are because they come and go and they have to check-in and out. The aesthetics of the place is just absolutely great. You walk in and you think you're in a five-star hotel. The dining room also looks like a five-star restaurant. They have very clean, pressed, white tablecloths, and fresh flowers on every table. You get to choose where you go. You're not assigned to a table like my mother was at her assisted living. They have top-notch chefs there. A person can go down to the kitchen all day long and get a snack or whatever they want to order. When you go to any one of the 3 meals, you can order what you want. I think that the apartment that we reserved for my brother has a view of the river, and he likes that a lot. I like their big giant windows and wonderful kitchen. The people there from the executive director down to Lisa, who is one of the marketing people, all of them are just so willing to work with you. The parking is incredible. Anybody coming in to visit will get a parking place. There are all these walking paths that go for miles, so if my brother has a scooter, he can ride it and go forever.

My parents moved into Holden Southcenter, my dad to Memory Care and my mom to Assisted Living. They were in three different Assisted Living environments in the past 10 years and always moved back to their house after each one. Holden is now their "home". They have outstanding loving care and the staff is exceptional. Shane, the director, is fantastic and his staff is exceptional, from the bottom to the top. It is a safe and caring environment with wonderful food and the best of care. Couldn't recommend them higher. 5 out of 5!!!!!! The BEST!

We toured Holden Southcenter for my father and mother-in-law. It was a fairly brief tour, and we only took maybe about 45 minutes to an hour. Because it was a larger facility, we didn't meet all the staff because the staff was busy either cooking. The receptionist there was very nice, though. The person that was showing us, Lisa, was very, very nice, and very knowledgeable. So, the people we met were terrific. It's a much larger facility than the other one we toured. I don't know how many rooms they've got there, but maybe one hundred and twenty rooms or something like that. It kind of looks more of a hotel-style than it does a home style. And the facility is brand new. There were all kinds of checks going in and that was good. The dining area looked wonderful, and the common area looked wonderful. We saw a 1-bedroom room and it looked beautiful. It was as you would hope a brand-new facility would look. They do have more in terms of planned activities, outings, and that kind of thing. But with COVID being here, I think it was probably somewhat constrained. We inquired about both assisted living and memory care. I think there are services available to you in assisted living. But if you do start needing memory care or you hit some threshold, whether it be a flight risk or what have you, they have another floor that's dedicated to memory care. They're a bigger enterprise associated with those two kinds of care. The facilities looked wonderful and inviting. They looked like they were designed to be comfortable and functional.

I toured Holden Southcenter and it's sparkling, new. It's just that the location was very industrial. Even though it's close to Southcenter, there's industrial building and Tukwila is all about industrial. However, for somebody that doesn't get out and walk around, there is a nice trail, The Green River Trail, right there. The lady who gave the tour was good and seemed knowledgeable. The apartments were very, very airy, modern, and bright. There was lots of sunlight and it's large. They also did a nice job on the interior of the building.
