Probably the best point about our tour at Spiritwood at Pine Lake was Kristen, the woman that we met with. She was very friendly and very knowledgeable about everything. She's the only one of the facility people that ever followed up with us. So, that made a difference. Plus, it was a medium-sized facility, very modern, very updated, and kind of almost elegant looking. It's very close to my house and it seemed to have everything that we were looking for. It's a beautiful place. We were looking at one of the larger studios and the one-bedroom and it would have been adequate for mom. They also had a library, a couple of different places that people could gather (like a game room kind of situation to play games or watch movies), live music at least once a week (sometimes twice), entertainment that comes in, field trips where they take them out to places, a beauty salon, crafting activities center, and a beautiful little courtyard outside with lots of trees and wildlife. It was lovely.

I toured Spiritwood at Pine Lake, but the assigned person doing the tours was on vacation. So, the person who assisted us just wasn't that great at what she was doing. But I'm going to say it's no fault of hers. It was a lovely facility and it was fairly new. It was very well kept. The staff was nice, and the residents were very friendly and welcoming. They had a beauty salon, a library, an exercise room, a theater, and they had gathering places. They had studios, and 1 and 2-bedroom apartments. They had more options in the studio's floor plans compared to other places.

I went to Spiritwood at Pine Lake. It is closer to my home. It was very nice, but it wasn't as fresh and new, but that didn't matter because it was very homey, and it had a good atmosphere. The staff were knowledgeable. And because I dropped in, it wasn't like they were ready for me, so I think that I may have thrown them off their schedule. The woman who took care of me did take the time to tour me. She was the front desk receptionist, so she wasn't the normal marketing person to do the tour, so she just did the best that she could, based on her ability. Because I was initially looking at assisted living, I got to see the dining area, which is pretty much right off of the front entrance where you check in, so that was easy enough. But then I didn't get to see the memory care area. Mostly under them, I saw assisted living as far as the hallways, a room, and the dining area. It wasn't as much of a complete tour as I think it would have been if it was the proper person who does the tours. They showed me the activity calendar, and it looked pretty nice. As far as the activities, they had bingo. Just seeing them on a calendar, it looked good. Whether the people were engaging or whether the staff were helping, I didn't get to observe that. What I noticed at the entrance was, there were two chairs at the entrance kind of up against the wall, separating the dining room from the entrance. Two senior residents were sitting in those chairs, just sitting there looking, watching people coming in and looking at the weather from the inside out even though they could come out the doors and sit on the bench to get fresh air. There's a nice little walking trail next to a wooded area, which was very nice, so that would have been a nice opportunity. The atmosphere was warmer and more inviting. I noticed in the hallways people decorated their doors to represent their personalities, so that seemed inviting to the residents. I didn't have a planned tour and that was not the staff's normal role. She was the front desk receptionist's greeter, but she was very pleasant and very nice. They were very accommodating.

I visited Spiritwood at Pine Lake. I liked the fact that the community seemed to really live and experience the whole facility, like someone was playing the piano. People seemed very involved and happy to be there. The person that gave me the tour was very helpful, and I think it could have also been a good fit for my mom. The dining area was very nice. It was not at that time really being used, but it was spacious, and I think it was near an area where you could walk out to a patio; that was really lovely. I had a lot of trees and there was a very pretty garden area outside the dining room. And as far as the rooms, I don't have anything that really stuck out at this time, but it was definitely comparable to the other locations that I looked at. That day, they were actually out on a road trip. There was an activity, and I know that they talked about taking the residents out to see the lights in December, or the the holiday lights. There's definitely a lot of opportunities for the members to get out and do things. I remember that that day they were actually out and about. They were coming back, and one of the employees was giving a presentation about their dog. They brought their dog, which I thought was really cute. It was lovely.

I think the staff were very caring at Spiritwood of Pine Lake. They were extremely helpful to me when I was trying to make decisions. The dining room is beautiful. They don't have a lot of grounds, but they have a library and theater area. The rooms are nice and big. They take Medicare after two years. The dining room is gorgeous. It has a great patio. The food is okay.

This facility is located near our home so we picked this over the others. We are also the only main support system of my mother-in-law so its convenient for us to visit her. It is a four-story apartment; the lower floor is the dining room and the salon which is important to her. The rooms are nice and she is in one that she borrows the furniture from the facility (others bring their own). She likes the food. They have different chefs who cook for the residents. She likes some of them better than the others. The staff is very friendly and patient with her. I believe this is very important. They help with her medication and provide her with the care she needs. They prepare activities for their residents "“ movie nights, different church services, shopping, memory lessons twice a week and many others to help enhance residents' memory. Furthermore, this facility has a library, TV and computer room. This facility can enhance their service if they offer more variety of food to choose from and add a few more days for the salon to open. Sometimes, my mom has doctor's appointment so she misses her salon appointment.
