Mandatory full assisted living after a hospitalization. We moved my mom out because of that. She didn't need it with the help her children and friends.

The lakeshore is a beautiful facility on the shores of lake Washington. The building and grounds are kept up. Parking can be an issue. Staffing is poor and services are inconsistent. The assisted services that are on the pricey side are inconsistent and spotty. A person may or may not show up apr will be late. It could be male helping a female bathe. Not the best care as services need to be consistent especially with the population lakeshore works with. The communication between the facility and family members can also improve.

The Lakeshore is beautiful, and it's huge. We kept bumping into people who were just lovely; the residents were just so friendly. The place was impeccable, too. They have a lot of arts around; the residents were doing a lot of artwork. For activities, there was a piano, they do puzzles, they play games, they go on outings, and they have lectures.

The Lakeshore was very nice. The staff who accommodated us was very nice and answered all our questions. The facilities were very nice. They had different levels in there and some rooms were refurbished.

The Lakeshore looked very nice. All of the people seemed to be pretty happy. They had a nice layout. They served meals a la carte that come with the package. The staff was wonderful, upbeat, and communicated with their seniors. They had a really good rapport with the tenants.

We went to Lakeshore, but I didn’t like this place because it was simply too expensive. It seemed like an OK place. The food seemed a lot better than at the other place, but my mom would have a lot of trouble figuring out which way to go because she is not very good spatially. It wasn’t well-laid out for older people. And then they tried to tell us what we had to do and that never goes over well with us. I was like, “No, we are going to tell you what we want done for our mother, we don’t want you to tell us.” I wasn’t really happy about how they treated us either. I didn’t like them at all. I wouldn’t send anybody there. We saw them having dinner, but we just saw the residents basically talking in the foyer. We didn’t see them doing anything but talk and have dinner. The dining area was very beautiful. It was overlooking the lake, and it was really pretty and everything. I just wasn’t impressed.

I didn’t tour The Lakeshore since they were having an art show, and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to, but it turned out to be OK because I wouldn’t go there anyway. I wasn’t really impressed with the amenities. They have the most gorgeous view in their dining room of Lake Washington. I thought the décor was rather tired-looking and not too cheery. It felt like there were an awful lot of people with walkers and seemed older than me, and I’m 84! I didn't get a good feeling. The staff was nice, but my overall feeling was that it wasn’t the place for me. Also, the location was not good for me.

I only visited The Lakeshore for an hour and a half, but the people in the building seemed to be friendly and helpful. For example: When I arrived, I had just driven a long distance and even though I was was way early, one woman took the time to point me to the bathroom, which I thought was very nice. I was able to talk with Kathleen, the community relations director or salesperson, who took me around and showed me their one-bedroom and studio units. One studio unit gave the impression that it was much bigger than it actually was in square footage. One of the major cupboards for storing brooms and a vacuum was right in the middle to walk around on all four sides. It had a very nice kitchen with a stove and a fridge, and they were well kept up. It also had a really nice bathroom with a step-over entrance, but the step was only about a quarter of an inch high, and you have to really be handicapped to fall over that. I would like to move in there, but I found the activity rooms too small. It takes a certain number of people to raise the awareness of all the other people, so that you can play games and do things together, maybe tell stories about your background or whatever, and I found the rooms quite small for that. They have two dining rooms with windows about a story and a half tall that looked right out on Lake Washington, which is a jewel of a lake. Every year, they have a huge festival in Seattle where the US Air Force or the Naval Air Force comes and performs over the lake, and I can imagine it would be nicer to see from the location of Lake Shore because it’s right over the lake. I had lunch there with my hostess, Kathleen, and it was excellent. They serve two meals a day and you can add a third if you want to pay more, which I don’t. For me, I would like to prepare my own breakfast, but for the rest of the time, I wouldn’t mind having people around me. I never saw any activities outside of the meals actually taking place, but I did see a room full of people, who seemed to be concentrating on something. I went in expecting to be given a figure that I could not, under any circumstances, pay and it was not that way. Actually, they have reasonable fees for their rooms.

I am in Lakeshore, and I have been here about two or three weeks. The place is very good. Anybody will like it. The staff is helpful. The room that I am in is very clean and very spacious. The food is very good and very delicious. The dining room is very good. Everything is very good, nice, and clean. They have so many activities. Every day they have something like going out to casino, going out to swimming, and going out to lunch.

My mother has been living at The Lakeshore since the beginning of January. It's close to where I live, so it would be convenient for me to go there. It is a very warm and friendly environment, and the nursing staff for assisted living is excellent. They are very conscientious and really stay on top of the residents' needs. They communicate with all the health professionals like the hospitals and doctors' offices, and they are very proactive in terms of anything that the patient needs. They have a lot of different activities for a wide range of people, not only leisure, but intellectual interesting talks as well, and they provide good transportation to churches and doctors. The place is really nice, well kept, and it's right on the lake. It has a great dining room, like you're in a five-star hotel. They are very responsive to any needs that you have. We got a suite, and she has her own bathroom and own mini kitchen that overlooks a garden with a view of Mt. Rainier with temperature control and a lot of safety features. The food is good, but it's geared towards seniors like less spices and less salt. It's pretty basic, but they have a lot of options. They don't have a big huge yard, but they have a garden. There are places to walk around there that are very pleasant.

I knew about The Lakeshore because we have a family friend who lives there. We were considering this facility, but it was just way too big for my parents. It's also a bit far from where I live, so it's not convenient, but the facility is in a beautiful location, although a little bit pricey. The staff seemed great. I was able to tour a couple of rooms there, and they were great. They do have Asian food, which is a big deal for my parents because they are Japanese. Their activities are really great.

Everything at The Lakeshore was just comfortable to be in. We had friends there and we visited them. Their apartments were fine and the dining room looked out in the lake. I liked being able to see the lake. The staff seemed really nice.
